Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated by the Tamil community across the globe. It coincides with other harvest festivals such as Makar Sankranti, Lohri and Bihu.

We celebrated Pongal by preparing Venn Pongal ( a savoury dish of rice and lentils) and avial ( a mixed vegetable dish made with tamarind or yoghurt and ground coconut).
