I am welcoming all couples and identities. I had the incredible honour of introducing my two best friends and witnessing their journey from that first connection to falling deeply in love and building a family together. When they decided to get married, I knew I

wanted to stand beside them in a meaningful way, so I became a marriage celebrant to officiate their wedding. It showed me that this is more than just a role — it’s a calling. I now know that I want to help other couples celebrate their love stories and create wedding days filled with warmth, joy, and unforgettable memories.

Last Saturday, May 2nd, I had the privilege of officiating a beautiful, intimate wedding for Alnoor and Rain. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, and dressed in vibrant traditional Indian attire, the evening was full of colour, love, and joy. It was truly a special celebration to be part of.

Congratulations, guys! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special night. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with love, happiness, and unforgettable moments together.

What an incredible way to finish my first week living in Canberra

Why not set up a game of beer pong at your wedding reception?

This one might have your guests doing a quick double-take...at first. Then slowly someone wanders over “just to watch”... which lasts about ten seconds before they’re rolling up their sleeves and calling for a partner. And once that happens, it’s game on.

From there, it pretty much runs itself. People drift in and out between songs, someone almost always becomes obsessed with trying to get that one cup, and before you know it, the whole room is invested. Beer pong is such a fun way to give your guests something to do that isn’t dancing or small talk. It's also such a great way to break the ice without trying too hard.

Naming Days

Many people wonder what a Naming Day is and how it differs from a Christening.

A Christening is typically held in a church and is usually religious in nature. It often involves religious symbolism and focuses on the beginning of a child’s journey of faith.

A Naming Ceremony, on the other hand, can be a meaningful alternative. It may be completely non-religious, or gently spiritual, and is ideal for families who prefer to allow their child the freedom to choose their own beliefs as they grow older.

A Naming Day can be held at any age and is entirely personalisable. It is a beautiful opportunity to celebrate your child surrounded by family and loved ones. At the heart of the ceremony is your child, along with the hopes, values, and wishes you have for their future.

If you choose, you may also appoint godparents or alternative roles such as Guide Parents, Guardians, or any title that feels right for you. These individuals can play an important role in your child’s life, with responsibilities defined entirely by you — from being another trusted adult to turn to, to someone who offers guidance, support, and care as your child grows.

There are many meaningful rituals that can be incorporated into the day if you wish. These may include planting a tree, lighting a candle, sharing readings or poems, or any other element that reflects your family and values.

On the 25th of October 2025, I had the honour of officiating my first wedding in Western Australia for Kate and Usman. It was a beautiful celebration surrounded by their close friends, family, and of course, their fur babies 🐾

Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter. Congratulations, you two 🤍

Closing the Circle Cermoney

Are you getting remarried after the passing of a previous spouse?

Closing the Circle is a gentle acknowledgment that while you are choosing to love again, you are not forgetting the love that came before

This ritual can be especially meaningful for families with children from that marriage, providing a sense of healing, continuity, and peace. Closing the Circle affirms that while your heart is open to loving again, the love of the past is neither erased nor forgotten

Happy 4-year anniversary to Matt and Nikki Griffith! This wedding will always hold a special place in my heart—not only was it the very first one I had the honour of officiating, but it was also the day I got to marry two of my best friends, the very couple I introduced. Their wedding was the reason I became a celebrant, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations, Matt and Nikki—here’s to many more wonderful years together!
