🌸Even on a dreary grey day, our beautiful camellias bring a welcome burst of colour to Belgenny Farm.

We’re also reminded of Sir William Macarthur, the youngest son of John and Elizabeth, who introduced the camellia to Australia.

A gifted agriculturist and horticulturalist, William made a lasting impact on Australian agriculture.

He also played a key role in the development of the Australian wine industry. Thanks to his efforts, in 1849 the Camden vineyard was producing over 16,000 gallons of red and white table wines and brandies.

A remarkable legacy, and a wonderful story behind the blooms we enjoy today!

What a fantastic day at Belgenny Farm for the Friends of Belgenny Farm Pioneer Day!
The event was packed with incredible demonstrations, stalls and exhibits—from Scouts, wood turners, croquet and disc golf, to the Lions Club, steam engines and machinery. There were also plenty of food and craft stalls, Camden Historical Society displays, book sales, and of course a fantastic BBQ, damper and Devonshire tea hosted by the Friends of Belgenny.
A big thank you to everyone who attended, and especially to the wonderful volunteers from the Friends of Belgenny who made the day possible 👏

We loved having the Classic Car Club join us for a tour of Belgenny Farm today.

The autumn weather couldn’t have been more perfect, making it a great day to explore the farm and share the story of the Macarthur family. We also had a great time chatting with the group and hearing some of their own interesting stories along the way.

Thinking of planning a group outing? Get in touch to book a guided tour, we’d love to have you.
