Today I was invited to talk cameras with some up and coming film students at the Cairns Screen Queensland Studios.

It was a special day yesterday covering the live stream and big screens of Anzac Day for Cairns Regional Council and the Cairns RSL Sub-branch.

It was testing with the set up in the rain, but it went away just in time for the dawn service and parade.

It’s pretty amazing, (and a little scary), where AI is taking us in our Production world. Chat GPT just dropped an update to their images overnight, so now simple prompts like this can recreate an image any way you like.
What would have been at least a days work of masking and compositing a complex image with multiple people in it like this in Photoshop, can be done in seconds.
Chat GPT and other image models have only been around for a couple of years, and each week or so are getting better. I wonder where it will end up?

That’s a wrap for Mareeba Rodeo 2025.
