Unpopular opinion: I genuinely see merit in both sides of the celebrant standing debate 👀

Some couples love having their celebrant standing right with them, a grounding presence, a familiar face to look at when the nerves kick in, someone who can quietly slip you a word of encouragement before your vows. I truly love being that for people.

Other couples want it to be just the two of them up there. The fixture, the whole picture, and that's stunning too.

There's no wrong answer here, it genuinely comes down to you as a couple, the vibe of your day, and what's going to make you feel most at ease. The one thing that's non-negotiable though? No celebrant should ever be standing between you for your first kiss.

If you haven't had this conversation with your celebrant yet, consider this your sign. It's one of those small details that makes a bigger difference than you'd think.

For the longest time I thought the celebrants with thousands of followers were the ones getting all the bookings. Like somehow a big number next to your name was proof that you were good at your job.

So I’d scroll, compare, and quietly wonder if I should be doing more - posting more, growing faster, building something bigger.

But I was getting booked, by really lovely couples, who had never heard of me before they found me. They didn’t care how many people followed me, they just wanted someone who felt right for them.

Turns out couples aren’t scrolling your follower count when they’re planning the most important day of their lives. They’re reading how you write, watching how you show up, and deciding whether they trust you with their story.

The number means nothing. The connection means everything.

These two had the wedding day they wanted, no compromise, no pressure from their families, only the things that resonated with them.

They picked up a bouquet on their way to the ceremony, they had 1 guest, they got ready together and caught an uber to dinner afterwards.

What you want at your wedding is completely up to you. Whether it's an intimate gathering, a 300-people multi-day lovefest, or something in the middle. You have permission to leave the things that aren't for you.

This is a dedication post to the couples who start out as strangers but grow to feel like friends.

It will never be lost on me the trust you put into me when you book me to be your celebrant. I promise you, I will treat your wedding day with as much love as I did my own. I know how exciting, and nerve-racking, and consuming a wedding can be, and I want you to be assured I am in your corner. I cherish this role, so much.

My favourite type of recap to post, here’s when I consumed in May!

A mix of audiobooks and kindle reads, and on the whole not a lot of standouts. If you have read any of these please let me know! And if you have any recommendations, I am desperate.

Currently fighting off the urge to rewatch Off Campus so any distractions are welcome 🤗

The epitome of a intimate ceremony. Hannah & Richard chose to have only 2 guests, Hannah's grandparents, attend their ceremony. It was a perfect reminder that weddings come in all forms, and there is so much beauty in having a day that aligns with you and your vision.
