DO WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR YOU

Emma and Reagan’s choices for their day perfectly embody this sentiment. Keeping things relaxed with an intimate ‘family only’ morning elopement…followed by lunch where they celebrated with 70 loved ones. It looked a little like this….

3 x ceremony tips that make a big difference...

1️⃣ Greet everyone who walks down the aisle. Take a moment to give them a hug or a warm hello. It breaks the ice & settles the nerves.

2️⃣ Let your ring bearer have a moment with you.
I make sure they standing in the perfect spot for your photographer to capture the ring handover.

3️⃣ Your celebrant should know where to stand. For most of your ceremony, I’ll be slightly off to the side, it means your photos are focused on the two of you, and it’s a also a natural spot to share a story with your guests that feels warm & inclusive.

I’ll move in for a few moments where it works to be a little closer.

Kids + Weddings 😉

So many of my couples are in the early years of parenthood, so naturally their little ones are present at the ceremony.

Yes, kids can bring unpredictability, but they also bring joy and unplanned moments of laughter.

Rest assured that with me, your ceremony will still flow. The kids will feel included & happy and we’ve always planned ahead for the scenario of an unhappy child (just in case!)

And yes, there will also be beautiful moments where it’s just the two of you, completely present and focused on each other.

I’ve noticed more couples telling me they want their ceremony to feel genuine, relaxed and meaningful, and not overly performative.

And I couldn’t agree more.

A great ceremony doesn’t need over the top energy. And guess what, it doesn’t need a detailed retelling of how you first met. It just needs to feel like YOU.

Josh & Justine have a beautiful baby girl together and when it comes to nappy changes, they have a habit of playing ‘rock, paper, scissors’ to see whose turn it is.

So it made total sense for them to want to inject a little fun into their ceremony and do the same to see who should say their vows first.

Not every ritual will make sense for you - but when it’s feels genuine, that’s when it works. And that’s how it was for these two.

A little fun followed by heartfelt, soul-shaking vows that had quite a few loved ones tearing up 🥹
