On Thursday I had the pleasure of MCing the Ballina Shire Meals on Wheels Client Christmas Party . It was such a beautiful day filled with good food, heartfelt conversations and some very talented performances. A real celebration of community and the year that’s been.

Meals on Wheels is such a vital service, delivering nutritious meals to those who can’t easily prepare their own, and offering social connection and activities that make an enormous difference to the wellbeing of older and vulnerable people in our community.

I have such fond memories of joining my Nanna on her Meals on Wheels deliveries during the school holidays, so it feels incredibly special to be able to give back as a volunteer now.

The Ballina team are wonderful — hardworking, compassionate and deeply committed to the people they support. It was a joy to spend the day with them and celebrate the incredible work they do all year round.

Hello! You know me as a celebrant and MC, but alongside weddings I also work as a funeral director and end-of-life educator.

This week I’ve launched something very close to my heart: 🎙 The D Word podcast.

It’s about pulling back the curtain on death and dying — offering calm, practical conversations to help families, carers, and healthcare workers feel more prepared, supported, and less alone.

Today is my little mate Fern’s 7th birthday 🐶! So in her honour, here are my top tips for including your furry family members in your wedding day.

ONE: have your florist make a little arrangement for their collar, or order them a cute outfit from Etsy

TWO: ensure their minder knows the exact cue to bring them forward with the rings to maximise their time in the spotlight, and to ensure you get the best photos of their moment

THREE: skip the ceremony it it’s too much for them and have them at the photo shoot, where there’s less people and less stress

And so it shall be, change is on the horizon.

I feel so privileged to have been able to call Forster home for the last four years. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth and I have loved my time living in this wonderful place so very much.

However life is pulling me in a different direction and I am on the move to the Northern Rivers, and will be locating to Ballina before the end of the year.

For all my Forster and surrounds couples already booked in, don’t worry! I’ll be here for you! I’ll be travelling back for every single wedding!

If you were thinking of booking me as your celebrant in the Forster area, I will be taking a limited number of bookings over the next 12 months. Stay tuned for available dates.

To all the couples I have married in this area, goodness me I am a lucky lady, being able to do what I do. I love connecting with with you during such a special time, getting to know you, and being part of such a momentous occasion. There have been so many laughs, tears and wonderful memories. I am so grateful!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all of the vendors I have worked with during this time. It is a privilege to do what we do and I feel so fortunate to work with so many wonderful, talented and passionate people.

And of course, my excellent biz partners, Pete Swindells Creative and Olivia Rose Photography . We know how much we love each other but just so everyone else knows, it’s a lot! You are two of the most talented people I know and I am so proud of what we have created so far, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. As a celebrant, it’s not every day my dogs are invited to the ceremony, but when one of them was friends with the couple first, it’s a given! Fern used to say good morning every day to Josh and Beth while they were waiting at the bus stop and we were on our way home from the doggy park. Living in the same area and playing trivia at the same pub every week (without Fern 🥺), it didn’t take long until we all became friends!

As a newly registered celebrant at the time, I suggested to Beth & Josh to get married in Australia before they moved back to the UK. Whilst Beth was up for it, Josh was adamant they were going to have a family wedding back home.

Back to the UK they went and they started to talk about wedding plans. It quickly became clear that what they BOTH really wanted was a small elopement back in Australia with friends - of the human and puppy kind. Who knew 🤔.

And what a perfect celebration it was. Three glorious days in the Hunter Valley. Great company, yummy food and delicious wine, celebrating the most beautiful love story. 🍇🧀🍋

Being part of a couples wedding day is such an honour and a privilege, and really really fun. I cherish every single wedding I am a part of. Marrying friends is that extra bit special, and takes a little bit extra deep breathing on my part to not cry tears of happiness during the ceremony 🥹

Splatties, thank you for having us 🐶🐶💞. We miss you 💖✨
