On Thursday I had the pleasure of MCing the Ballina Shire Meals on Wheels Client Christmas Party . It was such a beautiful day filled with good food, heartfelt conversations and some very talented performances. A real celebration of community and the year that’s been.
Meals on Wheels is such a vital service, delivering nutritious meals to those who can’t easily prepare their own, and offering social connection and activities that make an enormous difference to the wellbeing of older and vulnerable people in our community.
I have such fond memories of joining my Nanna on her Meals on Wheels deliveries during the school holidays, so it feels incredibly special to be able to give back as a volunteer now.
The Ballina team are wonderful — hardworking, compassionate and deeply committed to the people they support. It was a joy to spend the day with them and celebrate the incredible work they do all year round.
