Off rack dresses & complaint response
As a small bridal store we love that we can offer all our gowns off rack, not many stores do.
Off rack dresses are sold majority to brides who don’t have time to order the dresses they love in.
The down side to off rack dresses is they are store samples, as the name states they come straight off rack.
Gowns that have been tried on, a lot of the time may need dry cleaning or minor repairs.
This is a cost that comes to the bride, we do not cover any alterations cost as states in our contract.
BRIDES ARE WELCOME TO FULLY INSPECT THE DRESS BEFORE COMMITTING TO AN OFF RACK PURCHASE
Gowns from our newest collection are not offered as a discount off rack, these dresses take 6 months for us to get in again.
Older gowns are always discounted off rack and this cost can go towards any dry cleaning or repairs.
We will always note if there is obvious repairs that need to be done, however sometimes minor faults may be missed by us, again the bride is welcome to inspect the dress before purchasing.
Unfortunately we have had an incident where a bride who has taken the dress in for alterations has been notified of small tear in a mesh back of the dress.
This bride is extremely unhappy that we didn’t disclose this to her,
Small tears in the mesh that you cannot see even in the videos taken of the dress on the day, that we nor her bridal party on the day noticed.
We have spoken to the seamstress and the minor tear is being fixed at NO COST to our bride by one of our highly recommended seamstresses
But our bride has demanded compensation or she would take it to social media.
As our contract states alterations are not included in the purchase price and we always note on the contract if the dress is an off rack purchase.
We do not want this to change our decisions in offering all gowns as an off rack option but this is something we may need to consider.
