Up at the crack of dawn and somehow discussing all things b***s before most people had even had their first coffee.

The rules were clear: we had permission to say “b***s” and “Sh*tty T***y Committee”… but slipped in “nipples” too!🫣😂

What started as a conversation between friends has grown into something truly powerful 💗

We’re so proud to see the Big Boobie Ball featured in the Busselton-Dunsborough Mail, telling our story behind this event and what it has lead to within our community.

Created to raise vital funds and awareness for breast cancer, the Big Boobie Ball is more than just a night out… it’s about connection, friendship and reminding people they never have to face their journey alone.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the event over the years, from sponsors and local businesses to every single guest who has danced, donated and shown up in pink 💕

🌱Boobie Ball Origin Story!💕

After surviving triple negative breast cancer, Carol went travelling, moved to WA, and met Heather.

One day Carol said, “I want to dye my hair pink and have a party to celebrate five years since diagnosis” - a huge milestone.

Heather said, “Let’s do it.” 👍

With Heather working her magic, the very first Boobie Bash sold out at Shelter. It was such a hit that they thought, “Maybe next year we should make it a ball…”

And now look at it.

Boobie Ball is now in its fourth year and growing bigger, brighter, and more loved every single year. What started as a celebration of survival has become a powerful night of connection, awareness, and community support.

This week we met Jacie from Bendigo Bank. She was prompted by last year’s Boobie ball poster, at her place or work, to have a mammogram… read what Madelin Hayes said in this weeks !

…..“But beyond the glitter and entertainment, the event is making a real difference in the community by encouraging people to prioritise breast checks and screenings.

While putting up posters for this year’s ball, Ms Hunt said a conversation sparked by one of the advertisements may have helped save a life. “I put a poster up in Bendigo Bank, and branch operations manager Jacie Williams started asking questions,” she said. “We got talking about what the event means and how important it is for everyone to get checked.” She then spoke to her friend, and they ended up going for mammograms together. Jacie was then diagnosed with breast cancer, but it was caught really early, she had no symptoms and ended up having a double mastectomy and reconstruction.”

Last year, the Big Boobie Ball raised an impressive $60,000 for Breast Cancer Care WA, contributing to an estimated total of $172,000 raised over the past four years.

Ms Hunt believes this year’s event will push the fundraiser past a major milestone. “We’ll tip over the $200,000 mark this year,” she said. “The goal is to raise as much money as we can and raise awareness about breast cancer.”

The Big Boobie Ball will be held again at Sabina River Farm on November 7 with tickets now on sale via Humanitix.”
