Queensland, bookings are filling fast, and have been doing so since 2024! - This is an event not to be missed
NDISDA SDA Housing and Disability and the Impact Housing National Strategic Alliance is proud to be hosting the Bridging Impact Housing and SILSDA Queensland Conferences 27th & 28th August 2025
With attendees expected from across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and beyond, this event will serve as a critical knowledge exchange for organisations and individuals committed to the future of impact-driven housing.
With SDA participant numbers projected to exceed 30,000 by the end of 2025, national focus is shifting beyond bricks and mortar to questions of quality, viability, occupancy, and social purpose. Despite increased investment in new dwellings, vacancy rates are rising in some SDA segments, particularly in metro areas, while others - such as Robust SDA - remain critically under-supplied.
Simultaneously, Queensland’s hospitals are facing a mounting discharge crisis, with over 1,000 people medically ready to leave hospital, yet unable to do so due to a lack of suitable housing and supports.
At the same time, underutilised SDA properties across the state represent a powerful yet unrealised opportunity. These homes could play a transformative role in addressing urgent housing gaps - particularly for those requiring Short-Term, Medium-Term, transitional, crisis, or mental health accommodation.
But doing so requires more than good intentions. It demands policy clarity, design flexibility, operational alignment, and—above all—collaborative leadership across systems and sectors.
Building on the success of previous forums, this national event will bring together a distinguished line-up of speakers, including system leaders from health, housing, disability, and mental health sectors. The conference will examine the evolving SDA environment and explore integrated housing models that are inclusive, trauma-informed, and driven by participant voice and long-term value.
Featured Keynote Speakers Include:
