ALL OF OUR EVENTS ACCEPT COMPANION CARDS.

We know going to a new venue can sometimes feel a little daunting, especially when you don’t know what the accessibility situation will be like when you get there.

For our next gig at The Balcony, Cooly Hotel, the venue is wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilets.

If you’re unable to use the stairs, just let the staff downstairs know you’re heading to an event at The Balcony. They’ll help you access the lift and get upstairs.

If there’s anything else that would make coming along feel easier or less daunting, send us a message before the gig. We’re more than happy to answer questions, explain what to expect or help where we can.

ON SEPTEMBER 26 WE’RE SHAVING OUR HEADS.

September is Blood Cancer Month.

My partner Sam plays in Johnny & The C-Sections, one of the eight bands on the day. His mum has leukaemia. It was the slow kind, until recently it turned into a fast and aggressive lymphoma, which is rare and much harder to treat. She’s going through chemo now and on tablets she’ll keep taking every day until they stop working or her body can’t take any more of them.

She’s lost her hair. So we’re losing ours.

On the day, Sam and I along with some of the bands are getting our heads shaved on stage. We’ll have barbers and hairdressers there too, so you can get yours cut or shaved with us if you’re brave enough. Plus raffles across the afternoon.

Every dollar raised through the GoFundMe goes straight to Women’s Cancer Support, a Gold Coast charity based in Nerang that supports women going through cancer. We chose them because they do exactly what Sam’s mum and every woman like her actually needs.

Eight Australian bands. The Grand Final on the big screen. And a very good reason to be in the room.
