Officially Out of Office 💙

2021 was an interesting year for me, from planning in full one of the biggest and most beautiful private property marquee weddings I’ve ever planned which went ahead on the day of the NSW floods in March.
To assisting a very sweet couple plan their elopement as soon as weddings of 10 were allowed in October.

Meanwhile a little hidden secret was inside me for the majority of the 2021 year! 🤫

With baby Hughes arriving, I will be out of office for the whole of 2022 so I can completely immerse in this magical time of starting a family. 👼

Woohoo! We’re popping the champas right over here because Sienna & Andrew are married!!!! 🍾💍

We helped these two newlyweds alongs with their elopement plans and are so over the moon after what they went through over their two year engagement, that finally yesterday they professed their unconditional love in front of 11 guests at Fernbank Farm 🌿🌿

What an incredible day for this gorgeous couple and we wish them all the happiness in the world!!

Congratulations to our couple Janice + Richard! 🥂💕

After a whole year of planning your wedding with you, I’m so unbelievably proud of you two, your families, and the whole vendor team for the unforgettable wedding we created together!

This wedding went ahead on the family’s rural farm property beside a flowing river in the Megalong Valley on that weekend of the NSW floods. The worst floods the state had seen in over 60 years!

Thank heavens our wedding wasn’t flooded out, but it sure did come with it’s fair share of muddy and rainy challenges (more details to be disclosed soon!)! BUT nothing could stop this unforgettable wedding from happening.

It was the type of wedding we’ll all be telling our grandchildren in years to come! ✨ It was filled with pure joy, overflowing love and celebrations despite the weather craziness which we’ll all remember for the rest of our lives! 💕

One of my old time favourite times during bump ins at weddings, is when the florists arrive ready to style!! I just adore watching all the bunches of blooms transform into beautiful floral creations!

Florists are one of the most creative and hard working vendors in the industry. Blooms transform a boring space into something completely unique and unforgettable.

Why oh why are we all dreading rain on our wedding days?! 🤷‍♀️

Photos like these by incredible photographers (this one by legendary shire local Scott Surplice Photography) just shows you the potential of how beautiful wedding photos can be in any weather, as long as you chill right out, not care about the weather and just EMBRACE it!! 🌧

It is what it is... As long as you have an indoor option for all your guests to hide in under cover while you celebrate in elements, you can rest easy during the wedding planning process knowing the weather ain’t going to rain on your parade!

Here at AHW, we love encouraging our couples to be authentic, and to show their personality in their wedding day. ✨

We also absolutely love how lucky we are in the shire to have some incredible local bridal gown designers, and Amy New Bridal Amy New Bridal never seizes to amaze!!! She creates gowns which define her brides, and always with a little something unique/creative to each of her pieces!! 🧚‍♀️

Ah aren’t we all just over all this COVID talk! When oh when is it all going to be in the past and far behind us?! Let’s move on already!! 🙈

Well... the truth is... it ain’t disappearing from the face of the earth any time soon, no matter how much we are all praying! 🙏

But on the positive side, thankfully for Sydney siders, our government restrictions are becoming more lenient as the months roll by. For all those couples planning smaller weddings this year, and larger wedding next year, it’s looking positive that our weddings will go ahead on exact dates (maybe with a few tweaks but still possible)! ✨

My last top tip was more focussed on planning around COVID. This top tip is about having a germ free wedding day! 🦠

With everyone all over the world now germaphobes, it’s so important now more than ever to not only keep your wedding as clean as possible, but to demonstrate you’ve provided your guests with options to keep them safe. ⛑

Here are my tips on some options you can provide to guests on your wedding day:

• organise personalised mini hand sanitizers as wedding favors 🧚‍♂️

• have gorgeous styled hand sanitizing stations (with big pumps of sanitizer) at your ceremony, by the lavatories, by the bar and the entrance of your reception room. 🧼

• place a ‘comfort wrist band’ system at the entrance of your venue so guests wearing them visually know boundaries of other guests. Each colour band represents a comfort zone e.g Pink - keep distance. Blue- comfortable talking but no hugging, White - comfy with high fives and hugs!

• consider providing face masks for your guests too - cute personalised masks are also now becoming available! 😷

• Opt for an online gift registry or charity over a gift table or wishing well which requires touching.

• Have a digital invitation suite, including rsvp tracking online with a website included!

• Go for a digital guest book. Guests click a link you send which can be up on screen at wedding (incl selfies!) and printed by you later on.

• Touchless photo booths - you provide backdrop and guests do selfies with your hashtag! 🤳

Where do I hold my planning meetings?! ☕️

Check out this sneaky vid I took today of my meeting room at Bundeena CSC.

Meetings are fully private, comfortable, equipped with air conditioning or fresh sea air from the balcony. 🐚 I hook my laptop up to the LCD screen while you sip on champas and relax! 👑
