Congratulations Lewis Major Projects, you are all SO TALENTED and FUN and deserve this accolade so much!
We're thrilled to hear the fantastic news that regional artists and creatives have excelled at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe Awards, with a remarkable number of accolades going to those with strong ties to our regions. Of the 49 awards presented across local, national, and international acts, eight were awarded to artists either from our regions or involved in our touring programs.
Mt Gambier’s internationally renowned choreographer, Lewis Major, took home the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Award for his production Triptych. Lewis is currently touring the captivating Lien and the spectacular Thunderstruck throughout regional South Australia. Tracy Crisp from Port Pirie earned both The Frank Ford Award and the Artform Shaker Award, supported by Theatre Networks Australia, for her production Pearls. Meanwhile, Port Lincoln’s Charlee Watt was recognised with the One to Watch Award presented by Matt Tarrant, for her show Beating up the Beatles, which we are excited to bring on tour to regional SA later this year.
The FRINGE WORLD Tour Ready Award went to looping artist Adam Page, from Mt Gambier, for his innovative production Adam Page for Kids… and their Adults. Port Augusta’s First Nations Dance troupe, Dusty Feet Mob - mentored by Lewis Major - were honoured with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Award for their outstanding work.
Gravity and Other Myths, who will soon embark on a four-stop regional tour to our Arts Centres with Ten Thousand Hours, were presented with the Adelaide Critics Circle Award for their stunning tribute to the dedication needed to master a craft. Finally, Michelle Pearson was awarded the Mental Health Commissioner’s Staging Change Touring Award for her show Skinny, which will be featured in our 2026 program.
