WHAT A NIGHT FOR KAWANA WATERS SLSC!

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Kawana Waters SLSC on being named the 2026 Marsh Club of the Year!
And a huge congratulations to our very own Ethan Collins, who was named 2026 Volunteer of the Year! What an amazing achievement and so well deserved!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our active members and volunteers who put in countless hours both on the beach and in and around our Club. These awards are a reflection of the dedication, passion and commitment of so many people, and we are so proud of you all!

Have you ever thought about becoming a surf lifesaver or getting more involved with Kawana Surf Club?
We’d love to invite you to take that next step. We have one final Bronze Medallion course running in 2026, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills, join a patrol and play a practical role in keeping our beach and community safe.
Course details
Starts: Sunday 1 November
Time: 7:00 am–12:00 pm each Sunday
Duration: Seven weeks
No previous surf lifesaving experience is necessary.
Before enrolling, participants will need to:
• Become a member of Kawana Waters Surf Life Saving Club and hold an SLS Members Area/Hub account
• Obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
• Hold an active Blue Card if aged 18 or over
• Complete a 400-metre swim in nine minutes or less
The swim proficiency must be completed before the course begins. Anyone who would like help preparing can start training immediately with club swim trainer Rod Weller at Kawana Aquatic Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. Rod can provide training advice and complete the required swim sign-off.

If the water component isn’t for you, we would also love to hear from anyone interested in completing a Radio Operator course. This qualification has no water component and provides another important way to support our patrol teams and beach operations.
