Field notes, breaking edition. This morning the Albanese Government launched the Office of AI (inside the PM’s own department) and Australia became the first country to pull AI into a single national framework standards coming for copyright, productivity, education, energy and labour rights. My honest read: if AI writes your captions or answers your customers, the rules of the game are being written right now. Nothing has passed parliament, the copyright consultation is still open which means this is the cheap, calm window to get organised.
