For the New Balance Chermside store opening, the cart was always the foundation. Clean, elevated, on brand. But pair it with the right florals and suddenly it is the reason people stop.⁠

This is what the success of a brand activation actually looks like. Not one element doing all the work, but every element making the others better. ⁠

The cart gave the florals somewhere to land. The florals gave the cart a reason to be noticed.⁠
⁠
Get that balance right and people do not just walk past. They stop. They look. They come.⁠

For the New Balance Chermside store opening, the brief was to elevate the cart. ⁠
⁠
What that looked like behind the scenes was a Bunnings trip, panelling painted by hand to match the existing cart, a wheel painted by hand because there was no way to colour match it in five days any other way, and small timber pieces custom cut to fill the roof pole holes so the surface looked completely flush.⁠
⁠
Nobody walking past noticed any of this. The florals got all the attention.⁠
⁠
That is exactly how it should be.⁠.

For the New Balance Chermside store opening, we had five days. So that afternoon we went away, put two concept options together and went back to them the same day. They picked one. We got to work.⁠
⁠
New panelling, a new roof structure, a wheel painted by hand because there was no way to get a colour match in five days any other way. ⁠
⁠
A pair of jeans may have been sacrificed in the process.⁠
⁠
Five days. This is where it landed.⁠

We also have a strict no boring events policy, because honestly, who wants to attend a boring event.

Conferences are no exception. They might not have the same glamour as a brand activation, but that does not mean they have to feel like every other conference you have ever sat through.

Here is how we made sure the Juvae conference was anything but.
