Thanks Greg, legend!πŸ‘Œ

Greg Wilson is an English DJ and producer associated with both the early 1980s electro scene in Manchester and the current disco / re-edit movement.

He began DJing in 1975 and is regarded as one of the most important figures on the UK dance scene. He enjoyed hugely popular residencies in the early eighties at Wigan Pier and and in 1983 he became the first β€˜dance music’ DJ hired for a regular weekly session at Manchester's now legendary Hacienda club.

Check out one of his sets recorded on various Australian tours over the last 15 years.

Playlist featuring 8 live mixes recorded in Australia 2006-2018.

Ooooh! Two hour Glitterbox radio show with DJ Nicky Siano who relieves some memories form The Loft in New York πŸ‘Œ

The Loft was the location for the first underground dance party (called "Love Saves the Day") organized by David Mancuso, on February 14, 1970, in New York City. Mancuso's vision of a private party is similar to, and inspired by, the rent party and house party. Unlike conventional nightclubs or discotheques, attendance is by invitation only.

In the late 1970s, Mancuso abandoned the generally accepted and expected practice of beatmatching, preferring to play songs in their entirety on his renowned audiophile-quality sound system, considered to be the best in New York, and among the best in the world, during the venue's heyday. Mancuso required that the music played had to be soulful, rhythmic, and impart words of hope, redemption, or pride.

This week the house goes to The Loft... On Valentine’s Day in 1970, David Mancuso hosted a private party called 'Love Saves The Day' that turned his downtown loft into a crucial part of dance-music
