Pioneer is now “AlphaTheta.”
And honestly… it just doesn’t hit right.

I just completed a survey on the rebranding of Pioneer to AlphaTheta... I really let them have it. Make sure you have your say if you get the email too.

For decades, Pioneer stood for heritage, innovation, and reliability... a name that carried real weight in every booth. It meant something. Now? “AlphaTheta” sounds like a wellness app or a crypto startup.

It’s like when Technics got folded under Panasonic, that instant dilution of soul. You can’t just rebrand legacy and expect culture to follow.

And the word Alpha? In today’s world it doesn’t say “leader” anymore. It says “cocky jerk.” Ego over essence. Noise over nuance.

The irony is wild... a brand built on harmony and balance, choosing a name that screams hierarchy.

Anyway… names matter. Some carry decades of trust. Others sound like they were focus-grouped by people who’ve never felt a bassline shake the floor.
