Happy 2nd Anniversary to Sophie & Mitch. The skies cleared enough for us to do their ceremony outside with the mist. Even with almost no voice, Mitch delivered his vows, some of the best I’ve heard, although as a songwriter, I expected nothing less. Soph was a vision in her dress and they were surrounded by their family at . And the best part, they walked back down the aisle to a recording of Mitch covering ‘I will follow you into the Dark’ by Death Cab for Cutie. Their whole day was magical ✨ The life they’ve built since is pure joy 💖

Can you guess who got the Fireball and who got the apple juice?

Liv had a surprise up her puffy sleeve during the ceremony — one mystery shot each to decide who would say their vows first.

Let’s just say… one of them definitely got the Fireball.

Spoiler alert: expressions don’t lie.

Happy 1st Anniversary to these two complete legends.

Bec & Tom trusted me with their love story before I was a registered celebrant, so I reached out to to see if she’d come along to do the official paperwork at their ceremony at Boreen Point on the Sunshine Coast. It’s pretty safe to say that this industry is one of the best, Anna and I met before Bec & Tom’s big day, had lunch in our home in fact, learned about each other, I picked her brains a bit about wedding stuff and I had the privilege of delivering Bec & Tom’s ceremony with Anna cheering me on.

Bec & Tom met at a ‘J’ themed party and talked for hours sat with their feet in the pool and the rest is history. I read a poem by called ‘The Truth About love’ and it was perfect, as they’d been together 10years before they said their ‘I do’s. They’ve traveled the world, even in a van in Canada (if you can do that, I’m pretty sure your relationship can stand anything!), they’ve bought a family home for them and their beloved pooch Yuki and they’ve got a lifetime of memories left to create.

CHEEEEESE!!!

I always ask my couples when I interview them if they’re happy to get a selfie with me at the end of their ceremony. The funny part about this was I gave their guests 10 seconds after my unplugged announcement at the beginning of the ceremony to snap a quick quick pic…and then proceeded to tell them if anything went on social media before the new Mr. and Mrs. Bailey had a chance to do it themselves, the bill for the day would be going to them.
I’m glad everyone listened, because then it meant they could all be present, truly present and not watching the ceremony through a screen, which made my sassy unplugged announcement at the start all worth it.

Have you thought about if you’d like an unplugged ceremony? I do think that if you’re paying a professional photographer thousands of dollars to capture you and your guests, then you’re probably not going to want photos of your guests watching you on a screen…I don’t know about you, but there’s something really significant about being fully present in a moment when two people are committing to spend the rest of their lives together that just makes me feel like you should put your phone down.

Happy 1st Anniversary Carlie & Wayde!

Before I was a registered Civil Celebrant, there were a handful of couples who entrusted me with the very important job of sharing their love story with their family and friends. I was lucky enough to have their faith in me to do this for them and what an honour is was.

Carlie & Wayde were one of those couples and sharing their love story, at their engagement party turned wedding, was so special!

This will be the first of many anniversaries for you two, what you have is really special! 💖

Love isn’t just words. It is actions. It is feelings. It is that ‘knowing’.

You know that saying ‘when you know, you know’? It can either hit you like a lightning bolt or be that little voice that says ‘you know this feeling and you have to trust it’.

I’m marrying a couple soon, who had that feeling of ‘oh, this is what love is’. It was their actions towards one another, their support of one another and their gut feeling about one another. They felt considered when the other made decisions. They felt taken care of by the other. They felt ‘at home’ with one another. Now that, is love.

| once in a lifetime love |

If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that love like Rob & Nik’s, is once in a lifetime love. It’s worth celebrating and celebrate they did! 25 years after first exchanging vows on their wedding day, Rob & Nik celebrated their love by exchanging new vows and rings, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
Rob first met Nik at the perfume counter in the cosmetics section of a well known department store. Nik’s beauty took Rob’s breath away and it wasn’t long before he was asking her to marry him. He was met with a ‘no’, and the look on Rob’s face is still etched into Nik’s memory. This didn’t deter him though, so he came back, a few months later, with a massive bunch of flowers and a beautiful proposal…he got his yes. From that moment on, they have been inseparable, both leaning on each other, but cheering each other on respectively, so they can both become the best versions of themselves, together. They have two beautiful children and are surrounded by the most incredible ‘framily’. My heart absolutely burst delivering their love story.

Thank you for having me & you truly are what so many aspire to be. And I hope you continue to find one another, like the river finds the sea.

• Alex & Michael • 21 Oct 23 •

I remember these two in their early days, hanging out in the pool at Caloundra where we all used to stay together for the Music Festival. They were cute, their interactions were gentle and kind. They were young, but had that ‘old’ love.

It felt like I was visiting family when I arrived for their ceremony.

By the time you say your ‘I do’s, we feel like family. Having the privilege of hearing your love story and then sharing it with your nearest and dearest is a pretty special gig and one that I don’t take lightly.

There is something really special about getting to marry couples who you’ve watched grow up together
