If you LOVE to create handmade cards, this is a wonderful group to donate the cards so they go to those who will appreciate your creativity and feel like they just received a ‘hug with a fold’ 😊✂️

Today marks 12th months since we started the page called Homemade Cards for Seniors Australia. When we were talking about starting up a page to see how many others might also be interested, we never imagined the support we would get and want to firstly thank you all!

Some facts:
Kay Rozenboom was the first person to join Homemade Cards for Seniors Australia, located in SA and has been supporting with beautiful cards over the 12 months.

We have now grown to 849 members in our group of which we have 406 active card makers donating cards.

Ann Lewis, Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator came on as our first collection point to support alongside Em in Gympie and Wendy in SA. We have now grown to 37 collection points throughout Australia and actively looking for support in areas such as Newcastle & ACT.

To date you have supported with over 30,000 cards nationally with the numbers still growing with birthday cards coming in. We started our first donation of Christmas with 5,000 cards, moved to Easter with the same, Thinking of You we collected over 8,400 and we are now at over 11,800 individual cards donated to support Birthday. AMAZING from all :)

We have grown from supporting Meals on Wheels across the country to now supporting over 113 individual Meals on Wheels or Aged Care facilities. This would not be possible without the amazing collection points helping to deliver the cards but what a heartwarming moment for us when they want to smile and hug you for being so generous.

To the future:

We will continue to grow our card makers with the great support of sponsors, bloggers and companies who have come on to support as well as us individuals sharing the group with friends and other card makers.

We are working on a program to get children involved in making cards through after school facilities.

Continue to bring many smiles to seniors through what we all love to make - our wonderful cards :)
