A special message from Queensland Premier David Crisafulli to celebrate five years of Brazil Week. 🇦🇺🇧🇷

We are grateful for the Premier’s recognition as we mark this important milestone and continue strengthening the connections between Australia and Brazil.

Five years of bringing together business, government, academia and community, and creating new possibilities for collaboration between our two countries.

Built on Connections. Powered by Possibilities.

“Together, Brazil and Australia are two giants with the future in their hands.” 🇧🇷🇦🇺

That was the opening message from internationally renowned Brazilian actor Nelson Freitas in a video created for the very first Brazil Week in 2022.

And Nelson didn’t just send a message, he was also there.

He joined us in Brisbane for the first-ever Brazil Week event, alongside the Brazilian Ambassador, the Governor of Queensland and other dignitaries, witnessing first-hand the beginning of an initiative that would continue to grow over the years that followed.

Five years later, it was only fitting to invite Nelson to be part of this milestone once again.

This new video was created especially for the 5th anniversary of Brazil Week in Australia and was first shown at our 2026 Official Opening Cocktail Reception at Brisbane City Hall. Since then, it has been featured at a number of Brazil Week events.

With his genuine love for Australia, and Queensland in particular, Nelson has a special place in the Brazil Week story.

Five years on, the words from that first video still resonate:

Brazil and Australia, two giants with the future in their hands. 🇧🇷🤝🇦🇺

Thank you, Nelson, for being part of our journey from the very beginning and for helping us celebrate how far we have come, and the possibilities still ahead.
