Poetry in Motion: The Art of Slam

Poetry in Motion: The Art of Slam is a workshop designed to teach participants about writing poems that can be ‘performed’. It aims to use fun, creative exercises to free up the imagination, and build confidence in the participants. It’s based on Kathryn’s own experience as a ‘performing’ poet.

What a concert!! What songwriters, singers, harpists and entertainers Harp2Harp are! What command of so many genres. Seek them out, buy a ticket, cancel your plans and see them.

Kelly Menhennett! What a songwriter and singer! We had a great evening yesterday as she sang so many of her songs that could have easily been classics. There aren’t many who get flown to the US to finish some songs of a deceased songwriter.
She plays a fine ‘mouth-trumpet’ as well.

Saturday evening we were entertained by three incredible artists, first was duo Courtney Rob and Snooks La Vie!
Snooks used a variety of Harmonicas with differing ranges to bring a unique sound to the guitar and vocals of Courtney.

After a brief intermission, Rachel Collis took to the stage with her storytelling through meaningful lyrics, beautiful voice and piano. The range her voice has was incredible to hear and she made it look effortless!

A wonderful night overall.

The other act last night (22nd June 2024) of fine musicians was Vetter og villskap - a Nordic band with fine fiddle, banjo, guitar and Nordic folks songs. Adelaide has so many hidden gems!

There is so much good music these days! Kathy and her band have moved more into original material lately and they are quality songs and arrangements. Don’t miss them.
Sienna is writing and singing some heartbreakingly beautiful material. Being a Broken Hill boy I love that she is Pro Hart’s grand-daughter. Art runs in her veins.
