There's a particular kind of admin who never enters anything.

She's too busy making sure everyone else's day runs properly.

So we're making this one easy.

We're giving away two tickets to the 2026 Admin Avenues Sydney Conference — Monday 12 October at Doltone House Hyde Park. Valued at $3,200.

One for you. One for a friend.

To enter: refer a friend to The Conference Shop. They just need to mention your name when they get in touch — a call, an email, a web enquiry, whatever suits them — and you're automatically in the draw.

Every friend who mentions you is another entry. It's that easy.

Drawn and announced Wednesday 30 September.

Don't want to leave your place to chance? Admin Avenues tickets are on sale now — and if you're going, come find us at our stand: https://www.eventcreate.com/e/the-2026-admin-avenues-conf-syd

Who's the first person who came to mind? Send this to them.

"It'll cost more." "I'll lose control." "Going direct is faster."

We hear these every week. And we get why — they sound logical.

But none of them are actually true.

Swipe through to see what's really going on behind the assumptions — and why the planners who've worked with us wonder why they waited so long. 👉

📌 Save this if you've ever talked yourself out of using a venue sourcing agent.

A four-star hotel doesn't guarantee a four-star experience.

And yet — that's where most event budgets get spent. On the room rate. On the centrepieces. On the AV package no one will remember.

The planners who consistently deliver events that feel premium? They're spending their attention differently.

Service over staging.
Connection over centrepieces.
Flexibility over formality.

Swipe through for the four things that actually move the needle — and the one question most planners never think to ask their hotel.

"Unique venue" is the hardest brief to get right — and it's the one most likely to catch you out.

We've pulled together 4 things that actually matter before you commit to any non-traditional space. From nailing your objective before you even look at a shortlist, to asking the questions that stop a clean quote from blowing out by thousands.

Save this one for your next brief.

And if you want to go deeper, this month's blog post covers it all — head to theconferenceshop.com.au to read it.

Season 3 is done — so this week, the TCS team did what we always do at the end of a big season. We sat down, hit record, and gave our honest verdict. 🎙️

Carla, MJ and Den cover the destinations that surprised them most (Tasmania and Christchurch both got a lot of love), the ones they think planners are still sleeping on, and something a lot of people don't know — destination grants that can actually fund your event. TCS recently helped a client access $15,000 for a New Zealand event.

That's not nothing.

They also tackle the global travel uncertainty question head on — and give some genuinely practical advice about what to actually worry about and what to let go.
Great listen to close out the season.

Picture this: a sit-down dinner for 1,500 people. On a stadium field. In Christchurch. 🏟️

That's just one of the things Edwina Fitzsimon from ChristchurchNZ shared on this week's episode — and honestly, we weren't ready for how much is going on there right now.

One New Zealand Stadium just opened, the Sheraton is coming in 2027, and the city itself — mountains, river, trams, opera singers on punting boats — is unlike anywhere else in the country.

Edwina's one piece of advice for planners? Keep an open mind. Christchurch has moved on — and it's time the industry caught up.
