Our journey to this destination has been nearly 15 years in the making, from leaving New Zealand to travelling and living in many locations in Australia but never finding that ultimate destination, the one that pulls at your heartstrings and has you excited to jump out of bed just to see if it is all as amazing as it was yesterday out the window. After a long search and a trip to Tasmania last year to search different areas around Hobart and Launceston we went back to Queensland without finding our paradise, disappointed in the landscape as we were looking for picturesque, lush green and specimen trees that would change with the seasons, flowers and bulbs that would delight year round. Then a property came online for sale in Ridgley, Northwest Tasmania several months later, that was an area we had not ventured to in our trip to Tassie. It looked amazing online, so we took a punt and brought it. The day I came to view it and stayed in the cottage I could not wait to see the first light of day and open the shutters to our paradise. It truly is everything and more than we could have hoped for in a property and now we get to share it with others from all corners of the world, if you have not ventured our way then jump online and start planning as we are truly blessed to be able to call this gorgeous spot our home. A minutes drive to Guide Falls and it’s stunning beauty, 10 minutes to Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens - a delight, just over an hour to Cradle Mountain which is magnificent in all seasons but particularly winter with snow if you are lucky. Venture up the coast to Wynyard, Boat Harbour and Stanley for stunning beaches or Penguin, Ulverstone and Devonports amazing Antiques store. So much to do, historic homes abound, wildlife, but for me the landscape is truly the most picturesque I have ever seen. We offer affordable but exceptional accommodation options, with the ‘Romantic Cottage’ for two or our ‘Luxury Apartment’ for up to four. Both are fully self-contained, private and beautiful. They both offer amazing views, comfort with luxury linens and fluffy towels, toiletries, a continental breakfast, bathrobes, TVs, kitchenette, a guest book including all the brochures on local tourism and of course our welcoming hospitality. We can’t wait to share our very special corner of the world with you.
