What started as a generalised metal program quickly evolved into a full-blown passion project focused on showcasing and supporting Australia’s independent heavy music scene. Driven by a love for the local scene, Heretic Freq
uency expanded beyond airplay into gig bookings and event promotion. We've hosted shows for bands like Alienist (Syd), Witchgrinder (Melb), Break Stuff (Melb), Krave (Bris), and Whisperhead (Dubbo) - and in 2025, we launched our first ever festival, TIC’d OFF, right here in Bendigo. The event brought together 13 bands from across VIC and NSW, was headlined by Orpheus Omega, and sold over 150 tickets! While Heretic Frequency is based in Bendigo, the reach is growing. We’ve started running shows in Melbourne and Geelong, with Ballarat next on the list. This year, we’re also working on two VIC tours for NSW-based bands and planning even more events to bring heavy music back to the Bendigo faithful. Behind all of this is just one person - me, Ezz Eddy. I’ve been part of the Bendigo music scene for over 20 years, and I’m deeply passionate about building something strong, sustainable, and community-driven for heavy music lovers. I do this purely for the love of the scene - just metal from the heart.
