Last night we had the absolute delight of getting dressed up and celebrating for the Bega Valley Business Awards, where Darcie Nicol Floral Designs was honoured as one of three finalists in the Micro Business category 🌿✨

While we didn’t take home the win, a huge congratulations to Camel Rock Surf School – such a well-deserved recognition!

It was incredibly heartwarming (and a little surreal) to be standing alongside two other amazing women-run businesses in our category. What a proud moment for women in business in the Bega Valley 💪💐

✨ A little mid-winter pause ✨

Just a quick note to let you know I’ll be taking a short break from Sunday 21st – Saturday 27th July to rest and recharge. 🌿

The store will still be open during this time with a lovely selection of dried blooms, indoor plants, and curated gifts available in store. While I’m away, the best way to get in touch is via email — the team will be keeping an eye on messages and will get back to you as soon as possible.

A little flower doggo to brighten your Sunday 🌸🐾

This is my sweet girl Ella — she’s been through a tough time with some pretty serious injuries over the past few months. During her recovery, she became a little shop assistant, spending her days with me at the store. She barked at most random of things (sorry! 😅)demanded cuddles, and got absolutely spoilt by customers and the girls in store. 💕

While she was in, the lovely and talented Tara from captured these beautiful moments of Ella among the flowers — and I’m obsessed! She truly caught Ella’s cheeky, gentle spirit and gave me memories I’ll treasure forever.

If you’re after fun, sweet, and seriously heartwarming photos of your fur babies, I can’t recommend Tara enough. 🥰

🌈 Throwback to one of my proudest floral moments 🌸

During the final assessment of my floristry training, (nearly 5 years ago 🥲)we were asked to create a floral design inspired by a piece of art. I chose a powerful work that reflected on Stonewall and the rich, resilient history of the LGBTQ+ community — a community I’m proud to be a part of. 🏳️‍🌈

This Pride Month, I’ve been reflecting deeply. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to live where I do, to be able to express myself freely and build a business where inclusivity isn’t just a value — it’s the foundation.

But I also acknowledge that not everyone around the world shares that freedom, and that truth is a heavy one. It fuels my commitment to making Darcie Nicol Floral Designs a place where everyone feels welcome, seen, and celebrated.

Because love is love.
And we will always stand tall, grow stronger, and fight for what matters. ❤️🌈🏳️‍⚧️

What. A. Week.

We’re feeling so overwhelmed (in the best way) with gratitude after a huge week for Darcie Nicol Floral Designs 💐

First up — we were absolutely stunned and honoured to be named runner up in the Wedding Industry Awards for the South Coast & Shoalhaven in the florist category! A massive thank you to our beautiful couples who nominated us — your love and support means everything. This recognition was such an unexpected and joyful surprise ✨

Then, just days later, we received the news that we’re finalists in the Bega Valley Business Awards in the Micro Business category! To be recognised alongside so many incredible local businesses we admire is a true honour. Congrats to all the other finalists — we are in great company.

And to top it all off, Taylor and I had a fantastic time meeting so many newly engaged couples (and their families and friends!) at the Wedding Fair run by the incredible at . Hearing all your ideas and dreams for your big day has us so excited for the 2025–2026 wedding season!

Feeling so thankful for where this little business is going and the amazing community that surrounds us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 🌿
