Geetanjali School Of Dance and Performing Arts was founded by Sharmila Maitra, a dancer, choreographer and teacher with endless passion and talent for dance and theatre. Having specialised in the traditional Bengali Folk, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Odissi, and Bollywood, Geetanjali Dance School caters for a wide range of dance styles and is renowned in Sydney for it's unique contribution to

Indian dance and culture. Sharmila's talent is showcased through her students and her outstanding commitment to the development of Indian culture and art in Australia. The main aim of this school is nurturing individual talent and passion, teaching the relationship between culture and dance, and encouraging important skills like leadership and collaboration amongst our students. The students have been continually invited to participate in the NSW Art Gallery, The Sydney Parliament House, The Canberra parliament House, and in major local community events. Funds from regular classes are directed towards various charities in both India and Australia, including our local Westmead Children's Hospital, and the Red Cross. Welcoming the Bengali New Year with rhythm, colour and celebration 🌸✨

On 26th April, Geentanjali School of Dance had the pleasure of performing at the Boishakhi Mela with an array of performances by our talented students. From traditional songs welcoming the New Year to vibrant folk attire bringing the celebrations to life, every moment was filled with joy, culture and community.

So grateful to be part of such a beautiful celebration of heritage and togetherness ❤️

Looking to dance your way into the new year? Join us at Geetanjali Dance School as we kick off our new dance sessions in the 1st week of February!

🩰 We offer classes for all ages:

- Junior Batch (6 to 12 years)

- Young Adults Batch
- Ladies Batch

Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, we teach a variety of styles including:
