Photos please!!!! To mark 10 years of being a celebrant I’m going to make a photo book of the over 200 weddings I have conducted. It is purely a nostalgic memory for me, not advertising or for the public eye. I have one more very special wedding to sign off in March (my sister) before I hang up my stilettos (sensible wedges).

Thank you to my beautiful couples who have been generous with their empathy and good wishes for my health. I know the natural reaction would be to panic due to the impact on your special day. Never has this been more heightened in my mind… I have always banged on about being kind though 🤣

Empathy. It's a very important quality.

What you can see, is so limiting. You can't see their:
- loss or trauma
- past experiences
- feelings or pain
- thoughts and struggles
- regrets

So the next time you see someone, be mindful of what they have been and are going through.

Everyone has a story, and we will rarely ever know all of it.

Yesterday was a busy but totally beautiful day…. A stand out actually…. School drop off…..beautiful low key elopement wedding with no pomp and ceremony but laughter, love and all the feels.. (I’m all about the feel!) Lunch and great convo with a bestie, dinner with my wonderful mothers group where we ate, drank and laughed … a lot! Happy and contented tribe. Yesterday was a good day. When clients contact me after their ceremony to show their appreciation, it really is such a gift. We all spend so much time in self doubt, whether or not we admit it to ourselves or others. So it’s lovely to know that you helped make someone’s special day, that little more special. All I want is to make your day the way you want it…. So appreciative words and reviews mean I’ve achieved that, and I breathe an internal sigh of relief, before I move on to worrying about whether I’m going to deliver the goods for my next lovely couple. Each couple is different and that’s why I love doing this….. no two weddings are the same. People and their stories are what I thrive on…..

MC According to Urban dictionary “Master of Ceremonies” or “Microphone controller” 🤣 Whatever you like to call it…. It’s the Master (or Mistress) that keeps things rolling along fluidly. It relies upon good communication and an awesome team (in this case vendors). You get a feel if someone’s style matches the “feel” that you want for the day. If you want organised, but feels relaxed and fun…. Such a beautiful couple to share my 200th legal wedding ceremony with…. How thoughtful that they made me a special card and said a few words in the ceremony around it. Is laughter not the best medicine? Oh and are reviews not a lovely morale boost? I soooo appreciate it when my couples take the time to write some lovely words to let others know about what it’s like to work with me. I have said it before and I will say it again, I don’t love, love…. I love people and their stories…. And it’s so important to incorporate these into your ceremonies to reflect you both….. Wedding season is starting to wind down and I’m looking forward to a little recharge over winter (thank you COVId for scaring the wits out of me leading into EVERY…. SINGLE…. WEDDING!) Hopefully next wedding season will be a little easier for everyone! However, despite the challenges we have pulled off some A-MAZING ceremonies this season.
