On the 26th of June I was handed a pair of Altra running shoes as Professor Dominic Rowe challenged me by pledging $1000 of his own money to do the Firies Climb for Motor Neurone Disease
The challenge is 1 round of The Furber Stairs at Scenic World in The Blue Mountains - 954 stairs down then 954 stairs up.
On the 28th June I put those shoes on and figured I better get moving.
Today, the 28th July 1 month later I have added intermittent running into my now 10k distance, learned that stairs are very different to steps by toasting my calves doing too much too soon.
But… I am getting stronger and have a month to go before I do those Furber Stairs on the 28th August.
