Shivam Rath, is a second-generation musician following in the footsteps of his father, journeying from Australia into the profound world of Indian classical music. Since committing fully to this path, Shivam has steadily risen to become one of Australia’s leading slide guitarists.

Born into a musical family, Shivam blends his deep practice of meditation with classical training in music, mantra, and raga. Over the past decade, he has performed and taught music around the globe, sharing his passion through concerts, workshops, and retreats. His original compositions draw from ancient traditions, reviving and reimagining sacred sounds for the modern world—bridging cultures and timelines with music that is both innovative and rooted in lineage.

Shivam has studied under some of the world’s most respected instrumentalists, including Riley Lee (Shakuhachi – Japanese flute), Indian slide guitar maestro Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, and tabla virtuoso Pandit Chota Lal Mishra (former professor at BHU University). His dedication to the raga tradition is reflected in his teaching and performances across continents, as well as in his collaborations with some of India’s most highly acclaimed musical masters.

With his unique approach—combining the 22-string Indian slide guitar (Chatarangi), live looping, and electronic tabla—Shivam continues to carve out a distinctive space in the global music scene, inspiring audiences with a sound that is meditative, expansive, and deeply rooted.

Hello dear friends.

We are coming very close to the Reconnect Retreat 2025 in Macedon Ranges! Over the next few weeks, we will share details about the workshops and facilitators at Reconnect.

I am delighted to announce one of our senior yoga practitioners Cristina Carnevali.

Cristina shares yoga, embodiment, mindfulness, and meditation practices with the intention to invite awareness and relaxation for more centred, connected and empowered living.

Her approach is warm, practical, and sprinkled with sense of humour, as she shares knowledge and tools for you to have under your belt for your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions of well-being.

She found yoga more than 10 years ago and immediately resonated with the practice. In 2018 she signed up to a yoga teacher training in India with the aim to deepen her self-practice to then, half way through the course, find herself inspired to share yoga’s teachings and practices, as she realised that she couldn’t keep them only for herself!

So far, she has completed three Yoga teacher trainings in India, a one-year Yoga Philosophy certificate program, a Mindfulness and Meditation teacher training, the Non-Linear Movement and The Wild Woman’s Circle teacher training and a variety of courses and workshops including prenatal yoga, kundalini yoga, ta**ra yoga, Vipassana meditation, Osho dynamic meditations… to mention a few.
She is a devoted practitioner and shares an experiential engagement with teachings and practices in her every day.

Depending on what type of session you’ll join with her, you’ll leave feeling grounded, calm, peaceful, connected, aware, perceptive, inspired, and energised.
The invitation is to come as you are, as she says: “It’s not how it looks, it’s how it feels”.

Please book your spot as soon as possible as we will have only a limited number of attendees at this retreat.

Blessings to you.

Namaste friends,

I hope you are doing well and are looking forward to attending Reconnect Gathering in Nov.

As this gathering is fast approaching, we will announce our facilitators and performers one by one.

Please welcome our dear friend Tim.

Lets hear it from him :)

Hi everyone, my name is Tim. I am excited to join the Reconnect Team this year as part of my Holistic Counselling & Psychotherapy training at the Metavision Institute. Growing up between the forests of Sweden and the beaches of Byron Bay, I always felt a calling to remember, and weave in my deep curiosity for people, my playful spirit, my peaceful nature and my connection to land. However, my impulse to conform to society was strong and I followed a traditional career path to become a primary and secondary school teacher.

This all changed after experiencing a spontaneous spiritual emergency in India during my mid-20s. During this tumultuous time, an embodied realisation emerged that there exists profound ways of knowing and relating to the world that were beyond what I had previously imagined. Since then I have been on a transformative path of self-discovery, receiving therapy in different psychotherapeutic modalities and training in mindful and authentic relating, sacred sexuality practices, traditional kundalini yoga, men’s work and process-oriented psychology.

At the Reconnect Gathering, I will be synthesising everything that I have learnt (or unlearnt) to create sanctuaries for participants to slow down and reconnect with themselves, their relations and the healing spirit of the land. From this place of grounded stillness, participants will be supported to discover and express the wisdom that resides within the intelligence of their own body, mind and soul. Common side effects of this practice include: letting go in trust, having confidence without knowing where you are going, playing in the depths of your inner wildness and expressing the aspects of you that feel most alive. Result: A field of radical authenticity.

We request you purchase your tickets as soon as possible so that we can plan our event based on attendance.

Eventbrite: Tickets can be purchased online using the Eventbrite link - https: https://reconnectgatheringnov2024.eventbrite.com.au

Kind regards,

Agni 🔥
