An Angus Youth membership won't transform your career overnight. Its value builds gradually through accumulated knowledge, relationships that develop over time, and opportunities you'll be presented with.

Understanding the full beef supply chain changes how you think about breeding decisions. Most producers see their part of the chain clearly but have limited visibility of what happens before and after. Youth programs that expose you to the full picture from paddock to plate make you a better decision maker.

Angus Australia is pleased to announce that the 2027 Angus Youth National Roundup will be held from 13 – 17 January 2027 in Bendigo, Victoria.

Following the successful 2026 event in Tamworth, the move to Bendigo brings the Roundup back to Victoria and continues Angus Australia’s commitment to rotating the event between northern and southern locations.

The Angus Youth National Roundup welcomes participants aged 8 – 25 years and provides an engaging combination of education, competition, practical experience and industry connection.

While cattle preparation, handling, showing and judging remain important parts of the program, the Roundup extends well beyond the show ring. Participants gain exposure to the broader beef production chain, from breeding, genetics and animal management through to processing, product quality and understanding customer and consumer expectations.

For many young people, the Roundup is also their introduction to Angus Australia and the broader opportunities available through Angus Youth. Participation can be the beginning of an ongoing development pathway that includes leadership programs such as GenAngus Future Leaders, scholarships, bursaries, educational experiences and opportunities to build valuable industry networks.

By bringing young people together with producers, industry professionals, mentors and their peers, the Roundup helps participants build confidence, develop practical skills and explore the many career and leadership pathways available across the beef industry.

Angus Australia CEO Scott Wright said the Roundup continues to play an important role in building the skills, confidence and industry knowledge of young people.

“The Angus Youth National Roundup creates an environment where young people can learn from one another, connect with industry leaders and develop practical skills that support their future involvement in agriculture,” Scott said.

“For many participants, Roundup is the beginning of a much longer connection with Angus Australia. It can open the door to further education, scholarships, leadership development and industry opportunities through Angus Youth.”

The 2026 Roundup brought together young participants from across Australia for five days of hands-on learning, competition, teamwork and industry engagement at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre in Tamworth.

The event demonstrated the enthusiasm and capability of the next generation and highlighted the importance of providing meaningful pathways for young people to remain connected with the Angus breed and the wider Australian beef industry.

Further information about the 2027 Roundup program, venue, registrations, event coordination and partnership opportunities will be released as planning progresses.

The 2027 Angus Youth National Roundup Organising Committee will be announced in the coming weeks.

For now, young beef industry enthusiasts, families and supporters are encouraged to save the dates:

Royal Shows continue to provide a place for Angus cattle, exhibitors, young people and industry supporters to connect with each other and the broader public.

For many Angus Australia members, the show ring has long been a part of the broader rhythm of the seedstock calendar, a place to present cattle, catch up with clients and peers, support young people and keep the Angus breed visible to a wider audience.
