Chris and I would like to send out our deepest, heartfelt thanks to Donna, Kevin and the rest of the team on the Guyra and Community Progress Association for their care and continued support to us and our business.
We were all excited for the Guyra Snowball, a huge community event that has had so much hard work put into it by all involved.
The quickly changing weather conditions over the weekend moved our feelings of excitement into a very challenging time of stress and we are so grateful for the support we were given.
When it became clear that there was no option other than to cancel the event, as devastating as it was for all involved, Chris and I were put at ease that there was never any question as to whether we would get paid for our work; the weeks of prep and organisation that is needed for an event this size. That meant the world to us, for our business and of course our family that relies on payment for our services as our sole source of income.
In the last few days, I have witnessed the self sacrifices that Donna, Kevin and the team have made for this event and the stress(both mentally and financially) that they have personally endured throughout the cancellation process. On that note, thank you also to Donna and Kevin who put us up and provided for us when we were snowed in at Guyra for the night.
I really hope the community can get behind these wonderful people and show them the gratitude that they deserve - it’s a lot, believe me!
Also, thank you to the people who helped tow our cars to safety on the back roads to Guyra - you are life savers!
