A heartfelt thank you to every gardener who entered The Chronicle Garden Competition for 2025! 🌷

💖 Since 1949, this event has brought colour, inspiration & friendly competition to the Garden City and our community have loved embracing and admiring your hard work.

A special shout out goes to our dedicated judges, Duanne Karle and John Daly as well as our Gardener Liaison, Mike Wells. We truly appreciate your collective passion for local gardens and thank you for all that you have done to continue this fabulous, historical competition. 👏

It was a pleasure to welcome Mayor Geoff, his wife Lisa, and Geoff’s mother, to Blue Haze Events 🩵

We are truly grateful for Geoff’s ongoing advocacy and commitment to supporting local, family-owned businesses. Country enterprises thrive with the attentiveness of our Mayor and Councillors, and Geoff continues to set a wonderful example of this support.

The gorgeous gardens of Blue Haze – featuring our resident ducks 🩵🦆

Here’s the short version of their story:
Our Venue Manager, James, spotted a mother duck and her ducklings in danger of being hit by cars.
Sadly, the father and some of the ducklings had already been lost, but without hesitation, James gathered the survivors into his car and brought them safely to our farm.

With a makeshift pond, plenty of care, and a lot of love, the mother duck and her ducklings thrived.
Once they were strong enough, James released them onto our dam. We assumed they’d eventually wander off, but instead they’ve chosen to call Blue Haze home — splitting their time between the dam and our gardens, much to our delight.

Great work James!

(And if you’d like the longer, more comical, version of this story, you’ll have to ask James himself 🤣).

Thank you to all who visited Blue Haze today! It was so wonderful to see so many of you make the trip out, despite the weather ☔️

At Blue Haze, we’ve blended the best of both!

Our barista, will be serving freshly crafted coffees from 10am–1pm, the perfect pick-me-up before or after exploring our award-winning gardens.

Stroll through, and soak in the vibrant seasonal blooms, and let the surreal mountain scenery take your breath away.
Gardens open until 4pm today.
