Why I LOVE being a celebrant AND MC at a wedding🎤 💒

Having the opportunity to occupy both roles on a couple’s big day is not only an absolute honour, but an opportunity to streamline a couple’s style and essence from the moment guests arrive to the moment they leave.

Having an MC you know comes with so many benefits, familiarity being the biggest - and being able to team that with the ability to wrangle a run sheet, keep to time, liaise with stakeholders and respond to impromptu requests is something I’m certainly proud of.

The familiarity factor comes into play through my in-depth MC questionnaire. It allows me to deliver the reception like I’ve known you for years. This was certainly the case with Eamonn and Louise, who will no doubt now be friends for life. ✨

NAT AND PETE 🫶

Whimsical, romantic and oh so sweet. This was Pete and Nat’s special day. Their little girl took on her role as the star of the show with gusto, and these three were the most beautiful family to behold. How lucky we all felt to be in their presence. ✨

VOW BOOKS ✨

One of the most commonly asked questions I get is around vows. With 75% of my couples in the last 3 years choosing to write their own, I thought about how I might be able to make the process seamless.

Vow template 🤎
It all starts with the template. This helps you get the words out of your head and onto the page in a structure that flows, with helpful prompts along the way.

The check in 🤎
Once your vows are written I invite you to send them to me to look over, just to ensure they are similar in terms of tone and length. The template helps keep some structure, but it’s always worth checking - as you don’t want someone being tongue-in-cheek while the other is super heartfelt!

The vow books 🤎
Once I’ve checked both sets of vows and any tweaks have been made based off my suggestions, I’ll then print your vows and bring them with me on the day so you don’t have to think about it! They’ll be presented in beautifully bound and easy-to-hold A5 books, and I’ll ask you discreetly when it’s time if you’d like me to stay and hold the mic for you, or if you’re fine all on your own!

These two were so wonderful. Such beautiful family and wow - what a wedding party.

It was perfect weather to meet at Palm House, Botanic Gardens, and the selection of readings they decided on - matched with a couple of brilliant speakers - couldn’t be topped.

The signing ✍️ ✨

If I had a dollar for every time a couple said, “well this is it - no turning back now!” I’d have roughly 64 dollars.

Also, I would estimate around 40% of brides question whether they sign their marriage certificates with their ‘old’ or ‘new’ name. 🤣 I giggle, but there really are no silly questions!

Loved being a part of Victoria and Yassa’s special day!
