Literally . . . .

$78 dollars. That’s the sum of money we took on Saturday between 9am and 2pm in the cafe! Not the ideal outcome for a weekend trade! This is the reality of many small business and in particular Hospitality at the moment.

I’ve seen this post circulating at the moment that states, unpopular opinion, “Be careful with small expenses”. The idea of curving unnecessary spending. Not buying yourself the vanilla oat latte or the avo on toast and create a financial safety net instead!

UNPOPULAR OPINION 💁🏻‍♀️ … this is EXACTLY why small business is struggling. I am by no means suggesting to live outside your means, god knows I can’t afford to go out and eat breakfast everyday, and I recognise that I own a business that requires people to do that, but the fact is that most of the businesses where people might make those “small expense transactions” are in fact 9 times out of 10 a small business.

Those people aren’t taking an income or paying their bills unless you are spending money. These businesses also want to put food on their tables for their family’s and go on “ that holiday”.

We literally can not do that with out YOU 🫵🏻

Some people might suggest it’s time to throw in the towel, but I’m no fuc quitter so I’m just going to HUSTLE HARDER like I always do!

Tomorrow we launch our new AUTMN CAFE MENU and I hope that you all get just as inspired as I have been creating it, to come out and eat this week/month so just like me, small businesses might have a chance of surviving!

Buy the latte, eat the avocado on toast, and remember that without small businesses we truly have nothing!
