Inspired by Japanese Visual Kei acts like The GazettE and Girugamesh, long form concept acts such as Coheed and Cambria
and The Dear Hunter, as well as modern production powerhouses like Static Dress and Bring Me The Horizon, the flair for
the dramatic that underscores everything AKIRA SLIDE does translates just as strongly in their music. Ready to defy genre
and expectation at every turn, AKIRA SLIDE contrast passionate and emotional soundscapes with aggression, cheek, and
melodrama.
After releasing their infectious first single "INCISOR" and playing their debut show to a sold out Adelaide Uni Bar alongside
Australian heavy rock royalty Hands Like Houses, AKIRA SLIDE have hit the ground running very hard indeed. They closed
out 2025 with a packed show alongside Australian melodic metalcore favourites Reliqa and Future Static, and have started
2026 strong with their first release of the year [white line fever]; a big, open, dramatic piece that showcases the
musicianship of the band in full. Touted as one of Wall Of Sound's "15 Emerging Aussie Acts To Watch In 2026", AKIRA
