Walking the Adelaide city streets today after another photography job, I felt quietly grateful.
Not every job I do ends up on social media — and that’s perfectly okay. Some events are meant just for the client, and I respect that deeply. The images still matter. The experience still matters.
I enjoyed the stroll through Adelaide’s streets, gear slung over my shoulder, heading to and from the event. The sun was shining, the city was alive, and I was reminded how lucky I am to do what I love.
The joy of capturing special moments is always part of the journey.

Here’s a shot of me with the amazing Johanna Herrera and Marissa Hankinson. Two brilliant, passionate women I had the absolute pleasure of spending time with them yesterday. We video recorded several podcast episodes that will be dropping over the coming months. It was fun, interesting, and super productive.
I will put a link in the comments to some of their previous podcasts.

What a fantastic day at the official opening of the new Torrensville Bowling Club
On Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing this big community event. Here I am standing alongside club President Brenton Rolton while capturing the energy and excitement of the day. The Hon Tom Koutsantonis MP was there to officially unveil the plaque, marking a proud moment for the club and its supporters.
Hundreds of people poured in on Sunday to enjoy the sunshine, check out the new facilities, and take in the fun atmosphere — complete with food trucks, live music, a DJ, the South Australian Pipes and Drums, and, of course, plenty of bowls action on the greens.
This job was special because I was stepping in to help a fellow photographer, Ahsan Qureshi -AQ from ProShots, who’s currently holidaying overseas. It’s always rewarding to collaborate with others in the photography world and contribute to capturing moments that matter for our local communities.
The new Torrensville Bowling Club site is simply fantastic, and it was great to be part of such a milestone day.

Capturing young talent, proud moments & pure joy!
Today I had the absolute pleasure of working with Rose from Music Lessons with Rose, Interactive Learning — an incredible woman with a gift for teaching young children the magic of music.
This afternoon’s event was their big recital:
Little hands, nervous faces, beating hearts — and every single young performer pushed through and shone on stage!
Rose was beaming with pride, and honestly, so was everyone in the room. For this 4-hour event, Bob Gloyn Photography ran a full multimedia setup:
3 video cameras rolling, expertly managed by my talented assistant Vania
2 DSLRs capturing the action, awards, emotions, and atmosphere as I moved through the event.
The photo here shows Rose and me in front of the awards backdrop at the events end. And let me tell you — Rose didn’t need to be asked twice to jump into the basket we’d been photographing the children in earlier! A fantastic sense of humor and such a joy to work with.
It was a night filled with happy, smiling people, proud parents, and kids who learned they can do hard things.
What an honor to document these moments. This is why I love what I do.

Every Friday morning, I’m at the BNI A-Team Adelaide chapter (BNI - The World's Leading Referral Organization) networking. As well as this, I'm also photographing, video recording, and capturing the moments that matter.
This shot was taken during the Education Spot. This is one of the most valuable parts of our meeting, where Mark Ferdinands, one of our longest-serving members, shares weekly insights that build on each other to help us grow our businesses.
As the Social Media Coordinator for the group, I document the meeting in photos and video. The A Team, and its members use the content for social media, websites, or even internal training. It's a win for everyone involved — and a great showcase of how professional networking can actually work when you’re consistent and intentional.
BNI is a big part of how I grow my business. It keeps me sharp, introduces me to new people, and connects me with professionals who are just as driven as I am.
If you're in a room full of business owners every week, wouldn’t you want to make sure it’s captured the right way?
If you want photos or videos from your own events or business network? Let's talk.

Here’s a couple of fun photos from todays event I had the pleasure of capturing — this time standing next to the always-charismatic Carlo Macri, only to be photo-bombed by none other than our event host Lee Lim of AI Expertise and one of the event sponsors Bipin Joshi from Kubaer Finance. Safe to say, this group doesn’t shy away from the camera!
It was a full house, packed with energy, ideas, and a lot of engaged discussion. Guests left inspired and well-fed after a few informative hours and a solid networking lunch.
This is the second event I’ve covered for Lee, and with the momentum building, I’m looking forward to capturing even more of these dynamic business gatherings. Using my setup of 3 video cameras and 2 DSLRs, I ensure every angle is covered — from keynote moments to those unexpected candid laughs like this one.
This is what happens when you say to someone... here take my photo. Thanks again to Lee and the team for trusting Bob Gloyn Photography with your story. More to come!

Here’s Grant Parkyn from "i Clean Carpets and Windows" walking toward another site needing his expert help — this time, water-damaged carpets.
A while back, Grant had me come out for a day to photograph him and his team in action.
From carpets and windows to flood recovery and more, he wanted real, up-to-date images to showcase his work across his website and social media.
✅ One day.
✅ Multiple jobs.
✅ A gallery of fresh, high-quality photos that now tell the real story of his business.
These aren’t stock or A I photos — they’re his people, his gear, his work.
And it shows.
You can see a heap of the results on Grant’s website:

He’s a great bloke, runs a solid team, and truly cares about doing the job right.
I'm proud to help local businesses like his put their best image forward.
At Bob Gloyn Photography, “Your image is my focus.”

Every Friday, I attend my BNI meeting — not just as a member, but as the photographer capturing the life and energy in the room.
This image shows Katherine Mary McLeod delivering a powerful message about empowering women. It’s one of many moments I photograph each week — members sharing their passion, visitors making connections, and professionals supporting each other in business and life.
The images I capture are regularly used by members for their own marketing, social media, and business profiles.
If your networking group or business community could benefit from professional photos that showcase connection, confidence, and real engagement — let’s have a chat.

This is one of those moments I’ll never forget — Michael proposing to his partner Katie, and I had the honour of capturing it all.
Michael had carefully planned the perfect surprise. With ring in hand and a cover story involving a casual winery visit, he had me positioned about 80 metres away, ready with a long lens to photograph the big moment without giving a thing away.
The look of pure shock and joy on Katie’s face says it all — and yes, she said yes!
After the initial surprise settled in, we spent some time wandering the beautiful winery grounds, capturing relaxed, joyful photos of the newly engaged couple. It was a day full of love, planning, nerves, and unforgettable memories.
Whether it’s a secret proposal, a milestone event, or a business moment that matters — I’m here to help you capture it authentically and professionally.

I even got to work with the big man himself. That was a lot of fun.
