And THIS is the part of event styling you don’t usually see.

You see the beautiful event florals, perfectly styled tables, backdrops and finished room. What you don’t see are the little surprises behind the scenes, the problem-solving, lifting, adjusting, checking and occasionally looking at each other like… “Well. That wasn’t in the plan.”

Safety always comes first, but things can still happen during an event setup. I’ve learnt that being a professional isn’t about pretending nothing ever goes wrong. It’s knowing how to respond when something does.

We checked everything, fixed the problem, finished the setup and by the time our client walked in, all she needed to see was the beautiful engagement dinner she trusted us to create.

We survived. Miss Rabbit made a full recovery and the event was beautiful. 😂

The funny thing is… nobody walks into a beautiful event and thinks about how it got there. And I LOVE that. 🤍

They don’t see me staring at one corner for five minutes because something feels off.

They don’t see the flowers being moved for the third time, the table being shifted just a little bit, or me saying, “Wait… it needs something” when everyone else thinks we’re finished.

They just walk in.
They pause.
They smile.
And suddenly an ordinary room doesn’t feel ordinary anymore.

That’s the reaction I’m designing for.

Not just “this looks beautiful.”
I want “Oh my goodness… THIS is so me?”

Because anyone can fill a room with pretty things. My job is to make all those things work together so beautifully that, for a few hours, the room feels like it was always meant for your celebration.

And then we pack it all away like nothing ever happened.

That transformation? I’ll never get tired of it.

“Floral designer” sounds so cute until you realise how many other job titles come with it. 😂

One minute I’m arranging the flowers, the next I’m up a ladder, steaming drapes, moving furniture, fixing something that absolutely was working five minutes ago… then somehow remembering I still need to film the content.

But watching all those random little jobs come together and turn an empty space into something beautiful?

That part will never get old.

Fellow creatives, what job title did you accidentally acquire when you started your business? 😂

Nobody mention that being fully booked means you have to actually… fulfil the bookings??

I LOVE what I do, but some mornings, CEO needs to be left under the blanket until further notice.

Employee of the month? ME.
Most difficult employee to manage? Also me. 😂

Nothing prepares you for discovering that “be your own boss” actually means becoming EVERY employee.

One minute I’m creating something beautiful, the next I’m answering emails, chasing invoices, packing orders, editing a Reel, fixing something that mysteriously stopped working and having a very serious staff meeting with myself.

And somehow, amongst all the chaos, I genuinely wouldn’t trade it. Watching something you built from scratch continue to grow is a pretty special feeling.

Small business owners, what’s the most random job title you’ve accidentally acquired since starting your business? 😂
