🔥 Sunday Wrap — BBQ @ The Bend 2025 🔥

What a way to finish an incredible weekend of barbecue! The final day saw the SCA sanctioned competition bring the heat as Australia’s best went head-to-head for golden tickets and bragging rights. 🇦🇺🥩🔥

Huge congratulations to Ryan Mcgrath, who secured his Golden Ticket to the World Championships in Dallas, Texas with his very last dish of the 2025 season — talk about a clutch performance! 🙌

A massive shout-out to Melissa Bywater, who also locked in her Golden Ticket in Steak, delivering a winning cook with the final steak of the year! 👏

Adriano showed why he’s one of the best in the game, taking out Top Steak in Australia, while Jeff Griffiths earned well-deserved honours for Top Ancillary. 🏆

🔥 Day 2 Wrap — BBQ @ The Bend 🔥

What a massive Saturday at The Bend! The best pitmasters in the country brought the heat, the smoke, and some serious flavour to Tailem Bend today.

A huge congratulations to Butchers Axe BBQ, who took out their first ever Grand Champion title, edging out Dusty Que as Reserve Grand Champion after another incredible performance. 🏆

Big thanks also to Adriano and Ryan for hosting today’s BBQ Masterclasses – from chicken over charcoal to South American live fire and reverse-seared steak, the crowd loved every moment (and every taste)! 👨‍🍳🔥

🔥 Friday Wrap – Steak Shootout Results! 🔥

What a cracking start to BBQ @ The Bend 2025 with today’s Steak Shootouts bringing the sizzle to Tailem Bend! Huge congrats to our top pitmasters who brought their A-game to the grill:

🥇 1st Place – Kane Rankin (Golden Ticket)
🥈 2nd Place – Ross Walker
🥉 3rd Place – Ado Mac

The standard was sky-high, the aromas were unreal, and the taste tests were next-level!

***BBQ @ The Bend 2025***

We are live for 2025,

This year in line with Shell V Power Motorsport Park (The Bend) we are going bigger and better!

Friday- The return of the ever popular Steak Shootout. One steak, once chance, one golden ticket!! have you got what it takes?

Saturday - ABA after last years feedback we are continuing with ABA on the Saturday to allow for ALL competitors to put their feet up Saturday night and watch the head liners on the main stage!

This year we have decided to pick 4 categories allowing us to be a b**g in the Jack to hopefully get another lucky team over to the states 🇺🇸

Sunday - SCA Nurse your hangovers after an epic concert becauseuse there is 4 golden tickets up for grabs. As like last year. Wrapped up by 2pm bump out nice and early to get you all home at a reasonable time.

We have spent the last couple of years moulding this comp for all competitors to make it as friendly and approachable for anyone. Interstate teams we will hook up you up with gear! New teams we will tell you everything you need to know prior.

Hmmm 🧐 all this cooking at Bendigo makes us think it’s time to dust off the page and start announcing some things!

But how? Maybe I should just write heaps of cryptic messages and see if you pick up the clues I’m giving away?

What will the categories be? Brisket? chicken? Duck? Tofu? Maybe lamb? We probably need to pork too.

Why am I writing this message? Am I stuck in traffic in an uber and bored? Quite possibly. Can’t say I’d be open to doing this trip again?

Anyway nearly at the Grand Prix. Good luck to all competing at Meatstock.
