In 1970 a group of migrants from Molinara decided to form an association that would provide a place where their families could meet and spend a few relaxed hours together, but even more importantly, a place where the traditions and customs of home could be taught to their children. So a group of young people, led by the solicitor Joseph Marcus Baldino, set about bringing this idea to fruition. The
first official meeting was held on the 23rd of March 1971, and the 13 members managed to elect an executive committee that evening. Those elected were: President: Joseph Marcus Baldino; Vice President: Cosimo Caruso; Secretary: Nicola Longo; Vice Secretary: Joe Emanuele; Treasurer: Giuseppe Menechella. On the 3rd of July, after considerable work, the club was officially opened by the then Premier of South Australia, the Honorable Don Dunstan. Over the past few years the construction has had a complete face lift; and the upgrading of its facilities makes it a truly marvelous club with all modern facilities, giving it a lovely atmosphere which is appreciated by the entire community. It now has a hall, which can accommodate 300, a room for children’s games, and a room on the first floor with a capacity of about 100 people. It also boasts a new modern bar, a well-appointed kitchen, four bocce courts and parking for 55 cars. All these facilities are available to members and their friends, and for those who wish to hire it. The club bar is open every Tuesday and Friday evening; and those wishing to play cards or simply relax with friends are always welcome. There is always something happening at the Molinara Club including our Pizza & Pasta nights, New Year's Eve Dinner, Concerts, Mother's Day Dance and other activities.
