Back in December last year, we gathered your ideas, thoughts and feedback on opportunities for improvements to Stroud Street 🤝

What we heard from residents, businesses and visitors has helped shape concept plans for the future of Stroud Street 📝

Join us at Cheltenham Community Centre to view the draft concept plans, ask questions, and share your thoughts on what matters most to you‼️

Alongside the Stroud Street improvements, we're also planning for the future redevelopment of Cheltenham Community Centre to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our growing community. While this project planning is still in its early stages, we'd love to hear your ideas on opportunities to enhance our facilities, programs and community spaces to support a thriving neighbourhood for years to come 🍂🦋🌿

We are so excited to share a new upcoming playgroup for families and children - Warra Pudna!

Led by Warra Wangkatitya, Warra Pudna, meaning "Language Spring" in Kaurna, is a program dedicated to nurturing and revitalising the Kaurna language through early childhood learning and family engagement.

Designed for wakwakurna (children) aged 0–5 years and their taikurtirna (families), Warra Pudna provides an immersive environment where Kaurna Warra (language) is the primary language spoken. The program aims to support future generations to develop the ability to speak, read, write, and think in Kaurna, strengthening language, culture, and identity from an early age.

The weekly Warra Pudna playgroup program is launching at Cheltenham Community Centre on Monday 10th August 2026. To introduce the program and connect to families, we have collaborated with the DHS Community Development Coordinators team to run a series of free introduction playgroup sessions at the following locations:

Tuesday 16th June 2026, 10am - 11:30am
👉Kalaya Children's Centre - 50 Webb St, Queenstown SA

Wednesday 24th June 2026, 10am - 11:30am
👉Ocean View College B-12 Children's Centre - 23 Gedville Rd, Taperoo SA

Monday 20th July 2026, 10am - 11:30am

We are so fortunate to have the Cheltenham Reserve Playground located adjacent to the St Clair Wetlands close by..
So this morning we set up a Pot Painting activity in the park space.
The furry visitors who stopped by on their morning walk were a hit with the families who attended.

Last week, in celebration of World Bee Day, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to invite our community in to learn about the importance of native bees from Beck Stevens, a horticultural and agricultural scientist.

Together, we also helped replenish our bee hotels located in our native garden. They are looking much better now, and we’re hopeful we’ll see more little visitors taking up residence when the weather warms up again. 🐝🌼
