I know I’ve been quiet lately, I’ve been super invested in making the red lion hotel the safest venue possible for coeliacs. And so excited to see the positive reviews on Google boosting us to 4.2 stars. But I’m a lil greedy, I want at least 4.3 😂 So if you’ve visited our pub and had a great experience I’d absolutely appreciate you making the effort to add your own review. If we can get to 4.3 I promise you some delicious gluten free eclairs on the dessert menu, bribery at it’s finest 😂🥰

Two weeks into our GF journey and it’s been amazing to see how many of you have supported us, thank you! Our new menu has landed! Fully gluten free fryer section and specials galore! Still overwhelmed we have achieved this in just two weeks 🥰 If you are looking for a coeliac safe feed in the Northern suburbs come see me at the Red Lion Hotel in Elizabeth North. FYI the GFA option in fried foods is just so we don’t scare the regulars 😂

So it’s one week into my new role at the Red Lion Hotel in Elizabeth North, and what a week! New menu has been signed off on and we are one week away from deep cleaning the fryers and making them totally gluten free! Anything cooked in our fryers will be guaranteed safe, house crumbed gf schnitzels, gf batters, chips, wedges, southern fried chicken, arancini and nuggets. It is truly amazing to have not just the 💯 support but encouragement in making this a safe and delicious place for us to eat. Stay tuned for the menu to be posted! I’m excited! 🥰

End result! Not bad for a first effort…filling is delish but had to add a little extra for balance when the shells came out a lil thicker than planned. But I do have a fix for that in my mind. And the best part, since I already had healthy sushi…this bowl looks like dinner 😂😂😂

Came home from working a rare half day, ate sushi, had a 20 minute Power Nap on the couch and woke up with so much energy! Plus the urge to recreate the snickers pod treats we can’t enjoy 😂😂 who knows what I was dreaming in that 20 minutes but the filling is done and tastes pretty good to me…it’s all down to the shells in the oven. Stay tuned!!

Sorry I’ve been super busy but I had to share my day off and what hubby gained from it 😂 pork belly, best crunch! Roasted sweet potato puree, creamed spinach and broccolini. Not gonna lie, it was good! Aiming for a pastry day very soon, sweet and savoury…stay tuned!
