Early Childhood Educators’ Day 💙

Today we’re celebrating the people who build some of our very first relationships outside of home.

On Early Childhood Educators’ Day, we want to recognise the incredible educators who spend their days alongside our youngest children — helping them learn, connect, communicate, navigate big feelings and begin to understand themselves and others.

So much of this work happens in the small moments.

The educator who gets down to a child’s level when something has gone wrong.
The calm presence when emotions are big.
The person who helps children navigate a disagreement.
The relationship that helps a child feel safe enough to make mistakes, learn and grow.

Long before children have the words to explain everything they’re experiencing, relationships are teaching them:

What am I feeling?
What happened?
How did that affect someone else?
What can we do to make things better?

This is something we love about our Explicit Restorative Practice Framework.

At its heart is simple, accessible language that can be adapted for even our littlest humans — helping children understand themselves, recognise how their behaviour affects others, develop empathy and learn that when something goes wrong, there is a way forward.

And as children grow, the language grows with them.

Because restorative practice isn’t limited by age, race, gender, profession or sector. It’s about humans and relationships.

Understanding ourselves. Understanding others. Listening. Empathy. Accountability. Connection. Learning. Repair.

Imagine what becomes possible when we begin building that understanding from the earliest years.
