Hi everyone!!!
Hope lockdown is treating you alright 🙂 As part of my stage 2 research project, I am investigating single-use plastic use and waste in school lunchboxes in order to put together two toolkits (one for parents and one for schools) to raise awareness of the issues and share actions and tips that can be taken to eliminate plastic waste. If you've got a minute, I'd be super grateful if you can take this super quick survey - i'd posted a link yesterday, but it didn't seem to work so here's the new one :)

Hi everyone!

I haven't posted anything for a while now that Sweet Dreams is all wrapped up, however I am reaching out now to just encourage anyone who can to donate to my Vinnies winter appeal. Fortunately for me, I’ve never known what its like to have to go without basic human rights like a roof over my head. Being homeless is destabilising, demoralising and depressing. This year I’m participating in the Vinnies Winter Sleepout to get just a taste of the pain of being homeless, whilst raising money for the St Vincent De Paul fight to end homelessness. Most of us will never truly understand the essence of being homeless, but by donating you can show empathy and a bit of kindness for those doing it tough this Winter. If you can, please make a donation on my page - it only takes a minute any amount, no matter how big or small can makes such a huge difference in someones life! Together we can end homelessness!

Hi everyone!! You haven't heard from me for a while now, but a lot has happened since my last post. So, I officially sold the business on July 19th to Jenna, the wonderful owner of Once Upon A Teep*e. Her setups now included some of the gear that brought Sweet Dreams Sleepovers parties to life!! Just want to say thanks again to everyone who was a part of my journey with Sweet Dreams: all those people who booked a party, recommended me to someone or even just followed my page. It means a lot and I'm very grateful for all of your support :)

Now to the next journey in my life... I'm going to be a baby sitter!! I've done a lot of baby sitting around the place for family friends, but I'm hoping to get into it more over these Summer holidays. I absolutely LOVE kids and spending time with them brings me so much joy. I totally loved working with all of the girls I set up parties for with Sweet Dreams and putting a glowing smile on their faces was the best. I've done volunteer work at the Aberfoyle Park kindy + The School of the Nativity and I've also got experience as a babysitter. My business card does say that the hourly rate is $18 per hour, but this is totally flexible, I'm happy to go as low as $10 an hour depending on the time and number of hours I'm doing. Currently, I'm only servicing Aberfoyle Park and surrounding suburbs. Over these Summer holidays I've got very high availabilities so if you need any help with child minding or baby sitting, please feel free to get in touch with me. Contact me for references if you want, otherwise you can also check out my Sweet Dreams reviews about my interactions with kids and punctuality. BIG NEWS... I'm officially putting Sweet Dreams Sleepovers up for sale. When I founded Sweet Dreams Sleepovers 2 years ago I had no idea just how rewarding the business would be. Not only did I make a fair bit of money, I also found it so moving seeing the joy that I brought to so many young girls. A lot of people probably don't know that I am only 15 years old, so I am taking some time off business to really make sure I can put more time into my studies for year 11 and 12. With everything going on right now, I really feel
that this is a good time to try and transfer ownership of Sweet Dreams Sleepovers. Sweet Dreams was always designed to make childrens sleepover parties a really magical experience.

Not only Is this business great for people who enjoy working with kids and getting to know amazing new people, Sweet Dreams Sleepovers also is great for those interested in making a bit of extra cash. At its peak, Sweet Dreams made me around $60/hour ($180 per weekend with around 3 hours work). For people who are struggling a little more financially because of coronavirus, Sweet Dreams is also good to add an extra cash flow. With current pricing, a sleepover party with 5-6 tents is $200 and 3-4 tents is $150 (these are quite competitive prices), but of course a new owner would have the freedom to increase of decrease these. Over the years, I've have invested hundreds of dollars into the business to build up to what Sweet Dreams is right now.

I'm asking for around $500 for the business (see below for everything included) but I am more than happy to accept offers.

Just thought I’d take a moment to write a little tribute post to all those out there fighting hard for our country right now. We are in such a time of crisis, yet so much light is still shining through. Thank you to all the small communities out there staying strong and supporting each other. Thank you to all those who’ve lost so much, yet are still willing to give so generously. Thank you to everyone who has opened up their homes to those in need, those who’ve offered up all that they have for those struggling. Thank you to everyone, all over the world, who have donated anything to our desperate towns that have been completely destroyed. Thank you to all the businesses out there who’ve put their work on hold to donate and raise awareness about the struggles our country is facing. And thank you especially to all of our incredible fire fighters. They truly have put their lives on the line over and over again for Australia and have fought like never before. A lot of them are just regular people, people who were willing to sacrifice themselves for our safety. My heart is still with the families and friends of all those who’ve already lost a loved one fighting the fires. These firefighters are not indestructible, nor immortal and that’s what makes them such legends. Every time the go out into the fires for us, they carry the weight that they may not even make it home. You guys have saved the lives and homes of hundreds of thousands and we owe you all the thanks in the world. Through all this darkness, Australia has shone with light. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to all the heroes. Especially those without capes

My heart is with all those who’ve lost their homes, who’ve lost someone special and all those who’ve been evacuated and are waiting in anticipation for the outcomes of this disaster. I can’t even imagine what it’d be like for the thousands of people who’ve lost so much. Everything is just so surreal right now, we’ve just had to leave Thredbo because of the fires and the smoke has been absolutely crazy. The beauty and generosity of everyone right now who has chosen to give and help those in need has been completely heart warming. I’ve heard so many incredible stories of hope through this crisis. I am feeling so helpless right now, sitting here in the beautiful city of Adelaide while people are stranded in fires seems so cruel. I generally will be sending 20% of profits to a country facing water shortages, although it seems clear that those in Australia will be needing it even more right now. This month, 50% of profits from sales will go straight off to the Red Cross appeal. Please give what you can, everything will be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much and once again I just want to say that I seriously feel so sad for everyone struggling. Also thanks so much to the incredible firemen and women who are working their butts off and sacrificing their precious lives for our country.

Its no secret that the issue of water scarcity in our world is getting out of control. To combat this, I founded the Eco Denim Movement, a project that reduces excess water usage in our world through the sale of second hand denim. Unlike other slow fashion labels or op shops, my focus is completely on denim. The denim industry is one of the biggest consumers of water in the world, and this something that we completely have the power to change through the Eco Denim Movement.

The eco denim movement meets both the needs of the people and the environment. Selling my denim provides an affordable alternative to fast fashion that will also give back to the environment. Reselling denim that has already made it through the water draining production stages, means that with every purchase of second hand jeans over brand new ones we are saving 10,000L of precious water.

Many people don’t actually realise how much water is needed to produce our everyday items. A single pair of jeans can take 10,000L of water to produce.To put this into perspective, this is the equivalent of 33 standard size bathtubs
