One week in Vilnius. One week full of impressions, emotions, experiences and encounters. 🇱🇹
The World Team Disc Golf Championships 2026 in Vilnius are over and Team Austria is back home. 🇦🇹❤️
What remains are countless memories of an international and absolutely amazing event. It was a great honour for us to be part of this championship and to represent Austria on the international stage.
From a sporting perspective, it was a week full of highs and lows, exciting matches and close decisions. We fought, gave everything we had and tried to reach our goal: to make it to the semifinals. In the end, we finished 13th, a result that doesn’t quite reflect the great performances we delivered. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough this time. But we can say with pride: We gave everything we had and never gave up. 💪🇦🇹
And then, in the end, there was one very special achievement:
🏆 Team Austria won the Spirit of the Game award! 🏆
For us, this is a huge success and perhaps one of the most important takeaways from this week. Spirit means staying fair, respectful and sportsmanlike, even in the most exciting and fiercely contested matches. Knowing that this wasn’t just how we saw ourselves, but that our opponents also recognised and valued this, makes us incredibly proud. ❤️
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this World Championship possible: the WFDF, the Local Organizing Committee, all the volunteers and helpers, and of course everyone working behind the scenes to make this event happen. 🙏
And an equally big thank you to everyone who accompanied and supported us throughout this week: our fans, friends, caddies, players, opponents and everyone who shared this special experience with us.
We had an incredible amount of fun. We learned a lot, gained new experiences, met many amazing people and will definitely not forget this week anytime soon.
