Rest in Peace, Hans Herrmann ⚫️🏁 We are saddened by the passing of a true motorsport legend. He is most famous for taking home Porsche´s first overall victory in the 24 Hours of LeMans togehter with Richard Attwood in a Porsche 917 K, campaigned by Porsche Konstruktionen KG Salzburg.
But his career isn´t strictly connected to Porsche. Hans Herrmann´s 4 participations at Gaisbergrennen Hillclimb involve other marques aswell.
In 1957 he got 1st in Sports Cars up to 1500 ccm class and 2nd overall in a Borgward H1500 RS.
In 1958 Herrmann stormed up the hill again in a Borgward H1500 RS, this time securing 3rd in class and 3rd overall.
In 1963 an Abarth Sport 2000 was his weapon at Gaisbergrennen, reaching 2nd in Sports Cars up to 2000 ccm class and 3rd overall.
His last Gaisbergrennen was in 1966 driving for Porsche in a type 910/8 in the Sports Prototype Class where he became 2nd in class and 2nd overall.

It´s and this 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 in Blu Scuro is the proof that not every Ferrari has to be painted in red to look astonishing!
The /4 designation is a reference to the dry-sump lubricated 3.3 litre V12 engine with 4 camshafts making the 275 GTB/4 the very first roadgoing Ferrari with 4 camshafts.
In comparison to the 2-cam 275 GTB the 4-cam has more horsepower, 300 instead of 280, was sleeker to drive and please imagine the sound coming out of the exhaust pipes… Furthermore, the type 275 in general was the first Ferrari to feature all-independent suspension on all four wheels.
We are happy to see this car year by year at Gaisbergrennen and must say that the 275 GTB/4 is one of the finest GT cars ever made by Ferrari.

Finally back after 56 years…
On September, 21, 1969 Kurt Ahrens won the Eröffnungsrennen at the freshly built Salzburgring in Austria in a Porsche 908/02 Spyder campaigned by Porsche Konstruktionen KG Salzburg. Now the car is finally back, thanks to restorer Egon Zweimüller.🏁🇦🇹
Many thanks to Salzburgring for letting us conduct the test driving!

Gaisbergrennen 1969 - one last dance ⛰️🏁
After 30 years of hillclimb racing up Salzburg‘s local hill the last Gaisbergrennen was held on 7th September 1969. Overall winner Arturo Merzario took victory in a total time of 07:54.97 min in an Abarth SP 2000. Sadly the celebrations were tainted by the fatal accident of Abarth youngster Toni Pelizzoni in the second SP 2000.
Nevertheless 10,000 spectators did proove that Gaisbergrennen had manifested its status as one of the most prestigious hill climb races throughout Europe. But tendencies showed that motorsport would from now on be held on racetracks.
Right two weeks after, Salzburgring racetrack was opened not far away from Gaisberg Hill and would become a hotbed for Europe‘s racing elite.
