Helmut Hladisch sits powerfully at the core of the gugging story, a draughtsman whose patient lines and coulored pencil compositions turn everyday nature into concentrated presence.
His “ginkgo” drawing, now sold, shows why he matters in art brut bringing a sense of clarity of line with steady rhythm in a world distilled to essentials.
In our current exhibition “curated by juergen maurer: highly personal” we have a selection of artwork created by Hladisch inlcuding “lesser cabbage” and “grape” which extend focus into simple forms.
They become personal codes, each mark a decision, each surface a diary of attention.
