house DJs with an eclectic style of house music influenced by his Indian Bollywood roots mixed with the Caribbean island heritage, topped by the European, Dutch & French culture of his home... St. Martin is known for, you better believe Ajay Raw, with his enticing music style, will be the next thing this beautiful Island will be known for! These days, Ajay Raw is most known for throwing SXM's legendary, and always sold out, ELEV8 hilltop parties on Sentry Hill, where he is not only the Creative Director but also the resident DJ. In his early childhood, exposure to an eclectic combination of Disco & funk and synth-infused 80s music, most definitely laid the foundation for his eternal love of tribal, deep, and progressive house. Besides this, Ajay Raw ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of house music influences from Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, Erick Morillo, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, and Sasha in his early years... to Black Coffee, Lee Burridge, Matan Caspi, Sebastian Leger, Sam Shure, and Luciano. Today, this translates into his sets where he infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: melodic, organic house with jacking backdrops, groovy basslines, and occasional sexy vocal hooks… all on top of an afro or soca house beat. Tours in Ibiza and Tulum are shaping the rest of his DJ life by adding a touch of Balearic feelings and Bohemian vibes to his musical journey and lifestyle. Don’t let his island roots fool you; Ajay Raw is no stranger to the big city vibe! He has rocked the capital city DC’s underground house music scene from 1999-2003, playing in Clubs like Buzz DC, Modern, Andalu, and 18th St Lounge. Though he loves spinning at festivals, nightclubs, and beach clubs, his love for music has progressed beyond the spectrum of DJing. The last couple of years have seen Ajay in the studio as a producer and a promoter for the Ministry of Sound, together with his partner, Jayson Miro. Together they were nominated in 2017 for an Independent Music Award in the category of Dance/Electronic with the release of ‘So Deep in Love’, on indie record label SXM Records. This track had radio airplay and online streaming in over 30 countries worldwide. The future is looking stellar in 2023 for DJ Ajay Raw with new releases in the pipeline and a European tour in the works, and expansion of the ELEV8 brand of parties globally!
