Zenith Sports and Event Management

Zenith Sports and Event Management "getting it right ... in and out of the stadium" Our unique services and business strategies deliver total management.

The origins of Zenith Sports and Event Management go back to the mid 1980s, when founding partner Chris Tanner travelled the suburbs of Sydney Australia, selling advertising space in indoor sports centres. Over the following decade he established himself as a successful sports and events marketer, applying the science of marketing to the industry that he loved. "It is not about selling your sport,

it is about using your sport to sell products for your client and enhance his bottom line” he said at the time. His drive, and passion to do things the right way, saw record sponsorship incomes, ground attendance, membership numbers and commercial partnerships occur in sports such as rugby league, football, surfing, boxing, aerial skiing, indoor cricket, motor racing, squash and sailing. In 1996, he formed Zenith Sports and Event Management, after prompting from former England international footballers Tony Woodcock and Kenny Sansom. Both were impressed by Zenith’s strategies for athlete management and event production, and urged him to broaden operations on a global scale as soon as possible. Zenith now spans the globe, servicing the needs of athletes, coaches, officials, clubs, groups, and national federations. We work across a range of sporting codes, and we deliver a wide range of events (sports, music, community, cultural) from planning to conclusion. Zenith Sports and Event Management offers the experience and expertise that gives all of their clients “the winning edge”.

We'd like to wish our friend Joseph Montemurro, and our client Saša Kolman, all the best for the two-match series kicking off tonight in Perth.

Two great coaches, one with a string of trophies, one with a great future ahead of him.
.. and two good blokes.

The 32nd Asia-Pacific Venue Industry Congress, is currently underway at ICC Sydney. While technology is considered to be a key driver in improving venue performance, it’s also something many in the industry are a little afraid of.

Congratulations to A-Leagues women championship-winning coach Emily Husband on her appointment to the Matildas coaching staff, where she'll be an assistant to Joe M.

Sadly, this probably means she'll be leaving the Central Coast Mariners.

Joe Montemurro will be announced as new coach of the Matildas on Monday.

Great guy, great coach .... can only wish him luck working for the clownshow at FA HQ.

Thanks to all the messages of support, and to those who share our concerns about the future of Australian football, we can share this -

1) we are told that the member state federations made it clear they were uncomfortable about the appointment of the "Interim" CEO, and the way it came about
2) we are told that the "Interim" CEO cannot return to the board.
3) a number of state federations are watching the "wide and intensive global search" for a new CEO, especially for applications from "mates"
4) state federations will be asking as to how an employee can apparently also be a licensee
5) state federations are angry about the method and results of the appointment of coaches for the Young Matildas and Junior Matildas and will investigate.
6) state federations are investigating allegations of harassment and misuse of Football Australia resources, when a FA director raised the ire of NSW Police and the Australian Federal Police
7) state federations are investigating mistruths and slander perpetrated by a Football Australia board member regarding statements pertaining to "fictional AVOs"
8) "Matildas Alumni" (incensed that a ladies social team are being recognised wrongly as "Matildas") have smart strategies moving forward. King Rat cannot dismiss the complainants as a disgruntled lobby group.

The two rats in the ranks should resign for the good of the game.
.. it's all unravelling

Interim Matildas coach Tom Sermanni delivers a scathing critique of the A-League Women competition's professionalism, stating that Australian football remains "grossly underinvested" in the women's game.

FIFA is a corrupt, broken, and misguided organisation.

May 28 – On the tenth anniversary of FIFAGate, FairSquare, NGOs, academics, writers, whistleblowers and football supporters’ groups have argued that “FIFA is arguably more poorly governed today than a decade ago”. FIFA has responded that it is “a completely new organisation”, and that 20...

More people bailing out of Australian football, almost daily. Farewell Simon Hill.

Many fed up with the goings on at Football Australia.

The latest from the AGM .....

The coercion and subterfuge continue at FA.

Ben Richardson withdrew his nomination. He didn't have the numbers to get 51%, after a behind the scenes attack on his credibility, and promises to state federation executives.

Similar to what happened at the last AGM when Amy Duggan withdrew her nomination. That means the FA Board continues to have four elected male and two appointed female directors.

Looks like Isaac will continue as chair for another year and the fiasco will continue. It's highly likely there won't be a Deputy Chair given the constitutional gender composition principle, ie. a male chair / female deputy but only if the female is an "elected" director and not an appointed one. So, FA continues to have three vacancies on the board - a 2 year elected director (Amy's position), a new 3 year elected director and one appointed director vacancy. It will be interesting to see the next move by FA in filling those casual vacancies and it's possible FA might hold one of them for Garriock if she's not successful with the permanent CEO job. We all know she's a hot favourite, and why.

State federations gave their proxy votes to Sherrife Andrawes (FWest chair and chair of the member federations' council). They voted as a bloc under influence from somebody in the boardroom.

The theory is, Isaac wants to prevent any disruption to his agenda or power and Ben Richardson would have asked too many questions especially about accountability transparency and fairness.

Good luck friend.
