The Toughest but the Finest

We’re halfway through the Dakar. Today is the rest day: time to catch up on sleep, recover our energy, and clean the equipment.
This first week of racing, for me, has been the toughest but also the most rewarding. As always, being here feels like being on Mars: you feel like you’re on another planet.
The body adapts to constant temperature changes, improvised food, and very little sleep. But the adrenaline you feel when you’re hundreds of kilometers from civilization, filming something truly insane, is priceless.
I love the Dakar.


Siamo a metà Dakar. Oggi è il giorno di riposo: tempo di recuperare sonno ed energie e di pulire l’attrezzatura.
Questa prima settimana di gara, per me, è stata la più dura ma anche la più appagante. Come sempre, qui è come essere su Marte: ci si sente su un altro pianeta.
Il corpo si adatta ai continui cambiamenti di temperatura, al cibo improvvisato e alle poche ore di sonno. Ma l’adrenalina che si prova quando ci si trova a centinaia di chilometri dalla civiltà, a filmare qualcosa di pazzesco, è impagabile.
Io amo la Dakar.
